Receiving a paging message
Abstract
Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for transmission of a paging message. One method includes receiving a system information block (SIB) indicating a configuration comprising a set of paging occasions and determining a paging frame based at least in part on an identifier of the UE and a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle. The method includes determining a paging occasion index of a paging occasion based at least in part on the identifier of the UE and the paging frame and selecting the paging occasion from the set of paging occasions based at least in part on the paging occasion index of the paging occasion. The method includes monitoring the selected paging occasion for a paging of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) carrying a downlink control information (DCI).
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An apparatus comprising:
a processor; a memory coupled with the processor; and instructions stored in the memory and executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:
receive a system information block indicating a configuration comprising a set of paging occasions;
determine a paging frame based at least in part on an identifier of the apparatus and a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle;
determine a paging occasion index of a paging occasion based at least in part on the identifier of the apparatus and the paging frame;
select the paging occasion from the set of paging occasions based at least in part on the paging occasion index of the paging occasion; and
monitor the selected paging occasion for a paging of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) carrying a downlink control information (DCI).
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the apparatus comprises a user equipment (UE).
3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:
receive the PDCCH carrying the DCI during the selected paging occasion.
4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein each paging occasion of the set of paging occasions is associated with a respective paging occasion index.
5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the selected paging occasion begins within the paging frame.
6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the instructions are further executable by the processor to cause the apparatus to:
determine one or more symbols associated with the selected paging occasion based at least in part on the configuration; and monitor for the paging of the PDCCH carrying the DCI during the one or more determined symbols associated with the selected paging occasion.
7 . The apparatus of claim 6 , wherein to determine the one or more symbols is based at least in part on a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel block (SS/PBCH block).
8 . A method of wireless communication at a user equipment (UE), the method comprising:
receiving a system information block indicating a configuration comprising a set of paging occasions; determining a paging frame based at least in part on an identifier of the UE and a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle; determining a paging occasion index of a paging occasion based at least in part on the identifier of the UE and the paging frame; selecting the paging occasion from the set of paging occasions based at least in part on the paging occasion index of the paging occasion; and monitoring the selected paging occasion for a paging of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) carrying a downlink control information (DCI).
9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
receiving the PDCCH carrying the DCI during the selected paging occasion.
10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein each paging occasion of the set of paging occasions is associated with a respective paging occasion index.
11 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the selected paging occasion begins within the paging frame.
12 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
determining one or more symbols associated with the selected paging occasion based at least in part on the configuration; and monitoring for the paging of the PDCCH carrying the DCI during the one or more determined symbols associated with the selected paging occasion.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein to determine the one or more symbols is based at least in part on a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel block (SS/PBCH block).
14 . A processor comprising:
a controller coupled with a memory and configured to cause the processor to:
receive a system information block indicating a configuration comprising a set of paging occasions;
determine a paging frame based at least in part on an identifier of a user equipment (UE) and a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle;
determine a paging occasion index of a paging occasion based at least in part on the identifier of the UE and the paging frame;
select the paging occasion from the set of paging occasions based at least in part on the paging occasion index of the paging occasion; and
monitor the selected paging occasion for a paging of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) carrying a downlink control information (DCI).
15 . The processor of claim 14 , wherein the controller is further configured to cause the processor to:
receive the PDCCH carrying the DCI during the selected paging occasion.
16 . The processor of claim 14 , wherein each paging occasion of the set of paging occasions is associated with a respective paging occasion index.
17 . The processor of claim 14 , wherein the selected paging occasion begins within the paging frame.
18 . The processor of claim 14 , wherein the controller is further configured to cause the processor to:
determine one or more symbols associated with the selected paging occasion based at least in part on the configuration; and monitor for the paging of the PDCCH carrying the DCI during the one or more determined symbols associated with the selected paging occasion.
19 . The processor of claim 18 , wherein to determine the one or more symbols is based at least in part on a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel block (SS/PBCH block).
20 . The processor of claim 14 , further comprising:
instructions stored in the memory and executable by the processor to cause the processor to
receive the system information block indicating the configuration comprising the set of paging occasions;
determine the paging frame based at least in part on the identifier of UE and the DRX cycle;
determine the paging occasion index of the paging occasion based at least in part on the identifier of the UE and the paging frame;
select the paging occasion from the set of paging occasions based at least in part on the paging occasion index of the paging occasion; or
monitor the selected paging occasion for the paging of the PDCCH carrying the DCI;
or a combination thereof.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
