Abstract

A flight planning system is disclosed for providing an interactive and customizable flight planning tool. The flight planning system may include a memory device for storing flight information and one or more hardware processors. The processors may receive, according to a user device application programming interface (API) and based on input to a first user interface, first information identifying one or more flight plan parameters for a flight route; receive, according to a third-party API, second information affecting the one or more flight plan parameters; generate flight route data based on the first information and the second information; and provide the generated flight route data to a second user interface.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A flight planning system comprising:
 a memory storing instructions; and at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to perform operations comprising:
 receiving, according to a user device application programming interface (API) and based on input to a first user interface, first information identifying one or more flight plan parameters for a flight route;
 receiving, according to a third-party API, second information affecting the one or more flight plan parameters;
 generating flight route data based on the first information and the second information; and
 providing the generated flight route data to a second user interface.

         2 . The flight planning system of claim 1 , wherein the second user interface is a modified form of the first user interface.

         3 . The flight planning system of claim 1 , wherein the first user interface includes one or more selectable options corresponding to the one or more parameters.

         4 . The flight planning system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more parameters identify at least one of a pilot or an aircraft.

         5 . The flight planning system of claim 1 , wherein the second user interface includes a plot of a flight route on a map based on the generated flight route data.

         6 . The flight planning system of claim 1 , the operations further comprising generating a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) based on the first information and the second information.

         7 . The flight planning system of claim 6 , wherein the NOTAM is generated based on a user preference identifying a parameter associated with the NOTAM.

         8 . The flight planning system of claim 6 , wherein the second user interface includes the NOTAM.

         9 . The flight planning system of claim 6 , wherein the NOTAM is generated based on a flight safety calculation, the flight safety calculation based on flight safety input from a third-party source and at least one of the one or more flight plan parameters.

         10 . The flight planning system of claim 1 , wherein the second user interface includes at least one visual element overlaid onto the first user interface.

         11 . The flight planning system of claim 1 , wherein:
 the second information includes at least one overlap parameter; the operations further comprise determining whether the at least one overlap parameter overlaps with at least one of the one or more flight plan parameters; and the flight route data is generated based on the determining that the at least one overlap parameter overlaps with the at least one flight plan parameter.

         12 . The flight planning system of claim 1 , wherein the second user interface includes at least one of flight route wind optimization information, targeted advertising, fuel price optimized flight routing, a terrain map, a three-dimensional map, or a side-view flight route.

         13 . The flight planning system of claim 1 , wherein the first user interface includes a login interface.

         14 . The flight planning system of claim 1 , wherein the first user interface is configured to allow a user to interact with the first user interface by panning, zooming, or including at least one customer feature, the at least one customer feature corresponding to Visual Flight Rules (VFR), Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), a VFR/IFR hybrid feature, a selectable map overlay, a terrain map, or a three-dimensional map.

         15 . The flight planning system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first information or the second information includes an input related to an ongoing flight.

         16 . The flight planning system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first user interface or the second user interface includes at least one selectable feature that, when selected, causes display of an input interface.

         17 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium that stores instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:
 receiving, according to a user device application programming interface (API) and based on input to a first user interface, first information identifying one or more flight plan parameters for a flight route; receiving, according to a third-party API, second information affecting the one or more flight plan parameters; generating flight route data based on the first information and the second information; and providing the generated flight route data to a second user interface.

         18 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 17 , wherein the second user interface includes at least one visual element overlaid onto the first user interface.

         19 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of  claim 17 , wherein:
 the second information includes at least one overlap parameter; the operations further comprise determining whether the at least one overlap parameter overlaps with at least one of the one or more flight plan parameters; and the flight route data is generated based on the determining that the at least one overlap parameter overlaps with the at least one flight plan parameter.

         20 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 17 , wherein at least one of the first user interface or the second user interface includes at least one selectable feature that, when selected, causes display of an input interface.
