Abstract

A portable drill-driven compressor head. A compressor assembly is configured with a drill attachment which harnesses the rotation of a main shaft to pressurize air and deliver such pressurized air through a hose.

Claims

         4 . (canceled)

5 . The compressor head of claim 7 wherein said valve is a reed valve.

6 . The compressor head of claim 7 further comprising a pressure gauge coupled to said cylinder head for providing the air pressure.

         7 . A compressor head comprising:
a pump housing defining a first interior volume and a second interior volume; a cylinder head secured to the pump housing to seal a first end of the first interior volume and defining a hose outlet port therein for expelling air from the first interior volume; a valve between a lower surface of the cylinder head and the first interior volume to enable air to pass through the cylinder head and into the first interior volume; a piston for moving up and down the first interior volume, wherein movement of the piston in a first direction causes air to move into the first interior volume from the cylinder head through the valve and movement of the piston in a second direction causes air to move out the hose outlet port; a flywheel; a connecting rod connected to a first location on the fly wheel and to a base of the piston, wherein rotation of the flywheel causes the piston to move in the first direction and the second direction; and a drive shaft connected at a first end to the flywheel and having a second end adapted to be connected to a drill, wherein the drive shaft causes rotation of the flywheel responsive to a rotational force applied to the second end of the drive shaft by the drill.

8 . The compressor head of claim 7 further comprising at least one for connecting the drive shaft to the pump housing.
