Laundry scent additive

Abstract

A laundry scent additive having polyethylene glycol and perfume. The laundry scent additive enables consumers to control the amount of scent imparted to their laundry.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A composition comprising a plurality of particles, wherein the particles comprise:
 a. polyethylene glycol; and   b. perfume;   wherein individual particles of the plurality of particles have at least one of   i. a mass from about 0.95 mg to about 2 g; and   ii. a volume from about 0.003 cm 3  to about 0.15 cm 3 ; and   wherein individual particles of the plurality of particles are of different size, shape, and/or mass.   
     
     
         2 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the perfume comprises free perfume. 
     
     
         3 . The composition of  claim 2 , wherein the free perfume is included in an amount from about 1% to about 12%, by weight of the composition. 
     
     
         4 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the perfume comprises perfume microcapsules. 
     
     
         5 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition is disposed in a plastic bottle comprising a dispensing cap for dosing the composition into a washing machine. 
     
     
         6 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the particles further comprise a dye. 
     
     
         7 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises less than 3% by weight of a detergent surfactant. 
     
     
         8 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises less than 3% by weight of an enzyme. 
     
     
         9 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises less than 3% by weight of a bleaching agent. 
     
     
         10 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises less than 3% by weight of each of a detergent surfactant, an enzyme, and a bleaching agent. 
     
     
         11 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises less than 3% by weight of a fabric softener active. 
     
     
         12 . A composition comprising a plurality of particles, wherein the particles comprise:
 a. polyethylene glycol; and   b. perfume;   wherein individual particles of the plurality of particles have at least one of   i. a mass from about 0.95 mg to about 2 g; and   ii. a volume from about 0.003 cm 3  to about 0.15 cm 3 ; and   wherein the individual particles have a shape comprising a flat surface; and   wherein individual particles of the plurality of particles are of different size, shape, and/or mass.   
     
     
         13 . The composition of  claim 12 , wherein the flat surface comprises a diameter, wherein the individual particles comprise a height, and wherein a ratio of height to diameter is from about 0.01 to about 0.4. 
     
     
         14 . The composition of  claim 12 , wherein the individual particles further comprise a curved surface. 
     
     
         15 . The composition of  claim 12 , wherein the individual particles further comprise a dye. 
     
     
         16 . The composition of  claim 12 , wherein the perfume comprises perfume microcapsules. 
     
     
         17 . A composition comprising a plurality of particles, wherein the particles comprise:
 a. free perfume; and   b. perfume microcapsules;   wherein individual particles of the plurality of particles comprise a mass from about 10 mg to about 125 mg;   wherein the individual particles have a shape comprising a flat surface and a curved surface; and   wherein the individual particles are of different size, shape, and/or mass.   
     
     
         18 . The composition of  claim 17 , wherein the plurality of particles further comprise a colorant. 
     
     
         19 . The composition of  claim 17 , wherein the plurality of particles further comprise polyethylene glycol. 
     
     
         20 . The composition of  claim 17 , wherein the composition is disposed in a plastic bottle comprising a dispensing cap for dosing the composition into a washing machine.
