Photobiomodulation therapy systems and methods
Abstract
Photobiomodulation therapy systems provide a highly effective way to treat many common ailments to the human body. Many embodiments described herein enable two or more light therapy devices to be communicatively coupled together in various ways. In some embodiments, the light therapy system includes a first light device and a second light device arranged and configured to be communicatively coupled to the first light device. Each of the light devices may include a housing, a communication module, and a plurality of lights arranged and configured to emit at least one of red light and near infrared light.

1 . A light therapy system, comprising:
a first light therapy device comprising a first housing and a first plurality of lights, the first plurality of lights configured to emit both red light and near-infrared light; a second light therapy device comprising a second housing and a second plurality of lights, the second plurality of lights configured to emit both red light and near-infrared light; and a remote device communicatively coupled to and configured to control the first light therapy device and the second light therapy device, wherein the first light therapy device performs operations as instructed by the remote device, and the second light therapy device performs operations as instructed by the remote device.
2 . The light therapy system of claim 1 , wherein the second light therapy device is configured to physically contact the first light therapy device.
3 . The light therapy system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a first control panel coupled to the first light therapy device, the first control panel configured to allow a user to control a treatment time and cause at least a portion of the first plurality of lights to either emit or not emit red light or near-infrared light; and a second control panel coupled to the second light therapy device, the second control panel configured to allow the user to control a treatment time and cause at least a portion of the second plurality of lights to either emit or not emit red light or near-infrared light.
4 . The light therapy system of claim 3 , wherein the first control panel comprises a first screen and the second control panel comprises a second screen, both the first screen and the second screen configured to display the treatment time.
5 . The light therapy system of claim 4 , wherein the first control panel is configured to indicate whether the first plurality of lights is emitting red light, near-infrared light, or both, and wherein the second control panel is configured to indicate whether the second plurality of lights is emitting red light, near-infrared light, or both.
6 . The light therapy system of claim 1 , wherein the remote device comprises a remote computing device.
7 . The light therapy system of claim 6 , wherein the remote computing device comprises a device selected from the group consisting of a smartphone, a tablet, and a computer-enabled device.
8 . The light therapy system of claim 6 , wherein the remote computing device communicates with the first light therapy device and the second light therapy device via a wireless communication.
9 . The light therapy system of claim 8 , wherein the first light therapy device comprises a first communication module configured to facilitate the wireless communication, and the second light therapy device comprises a second communication module configured to facilitate the wireless communication.
10 . A light therapy system, comprising:
a first light therapy device comprising a first housing and a first plurality of lights, the first plurality of lights configured to emit both red light and near-infrared light; a second light therapy device comprising a second housing and a second plurality of lights, the second plurality of lights configured to emit both red light and near-infrared light; and a remote device communicatively coupled to and configured to control the first light therapy device and the second light therapy device, wherein the first light therapy device is configured to operate in a follow mode whereby the first light therapy device performs operations as instructed by the remote device, and wherein the second light therapy device is configured to operate in a follow mode whereby the second light therapy device performs operations as instructed by the remote device.
11 . The light therapy system of claim 10 , wherein the first light therapy device is configured to operate in a neutral mode whereby the first light therapy device operates independently and does not perform operations as instructed by the remote device, and wherein the second light therapy device is configured to operate in a neutral mode whereby the second light therapy device operates independently and does not perform operations as instructed by the remote device.
12 . The light therapy system of claim 11 , wherein the remote device comprises a remote computing device selected from the group consisting of a smartphone, a tablet, and a computer-enabled device.
13 . The light therapy system of claim 12 , wherein the remote computing device communicates with the first light therapy device and the second light therapy device via a wireless communication.
14 . The light therapy system of claim 13 , wherein the first light therapy device comprises a first communication module configured to facilitate the wireless communication, and the second light therapy device comprises a second communication module configured to facilitate the wireless communication.
15 . The light therapy system of claim 10 , wherein the second light therapy device is configured to physically contact the first light therapy device.
16 . The light therapy system of claim 10 , comprising:
a communication cable; a first plurality of communication ports coupled to the first light therapy device, the first plurality of communication ports configured to receive a first end of the communication cable; and a second plurality of communication ports coupled to the second light therapy device, the second plurality of communication ports configured to receive a second end of the communication cable; wherein the communication cable is configured to send a signal from the first light therapy device to the second light therapy device.
17 . The light therapy system of claim 10 , further comprising a stand configured to orient the first light therapy device and the second light therapy device in either an upright vertical configuration or an above-ground horizontal configuration.
18 . The light therapy system of claim 17 , further comprising:
a first mechanical fastener and a first hole located on the first light therapy device, the first hole configured to receive the first mechanical fastener; and a second mechanical fastener and a second hole located on the second light therapy device, the second hole configured to receive the second mechanical fastener, wherein the stand is mechanically coupled to the first light therapy device, via the first mechanical fastener, and is mechanically coupled to the second light therapy device, via the second mechanical fastener.
19 . The light therapy system of claim 18 , wherein the first hole is located on a backside of the first light therapy device and the second hole is located on a backside of the second light therapy device.
20 . A light therapy system, comprising:
a first light therapy device comprising a first housing and a first plurality of lights, the first plurality of lights configured to emit both red light and near-infrared light; a second light therapy device comprising a second housing and a second plurality of lights, the second plurality of lights configured to emit both red light and near-infrared light; a first control panel coupled to the first light therapy device, the first control panel configured to allow a user to control a treatment time and cause at least a portion of the first plurality of lights to either emit or not emit red light or near-infrared light, wherein the first control panel comprises a first screen configured to display the treatment time; a second control panel coupled to the second light therapy device, the second control panel configured to allow the user to control a treatment time and cause at least a portion of the second plurality of lights to either emit or not emit red light or near-infrared light, wherein the second control panel comprises a second screen configured to display the treatment time; and a remote device communicatively coupled to and configured to control the first light therapy device and the second light therapy device, wherein the remote device comprises a remote computing device selected from the group consisting of a smartphone, a tablet, and a computer-enabled device, wherein the remote computing device communicates with the first light therapy device and the second light therapy device via a wireless communication, wherein the first light therapy device is configured to operate in a follow mode whereby the first light therapy device performs operations as instructed by the remote device, and wherein the second light therapy device is configured to operate in a follow mode whereby the second light therapy device performs operations as instructed by the remote device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
