Congenital heart disease monitor
Abstract
A congenital heart disease monitor utilizes a sensor capable of emitting multiple wavelengths of optical radiation into a tissue site and detecting the optical radiation after attenuation by pulsatile blood flowing within the tissue site. A patient monitor is capable of receiving a sensor signal corresponding to the detected optical radiation and calculating at least one physiological parameter in response. The physiological parameter is measured at a baseline site and a comparison site and a difference in these measurements is calculated. A potential congenital heart disease condition in indicated according to the measured physiological parameter at each of the sites or the calculated difference in the measured physiological parameter between the sites or both.

18 . A patient monitoring system for detecting congenital heart condition comprising:
a first optical sensor configured to measure attenuation of optical radiation from a first measurement site on a patient; a second optical sensor configured to measure attenuation of optical radiation from a second measurement site on the patient; and a physiological monitor configured to connect to both the first optical sensor and the second optical sensor for measurements at multiple measurement sites on the patient without having to reattach any sensor for multiple measurements that are needed to detect a congenital heart condition.
19 . The patient monitoring system of claim 18 , further comprising a cable comprising a first end configured to connect with the physiological monitor, a second end configured to connect with the first optical sensor and a third end configured to connect with the second optical sensor.

The patient monitoring system of claim 19 , wherein the one or more hardware processors are further configured to detect a physiological condition based on a comparison of a first plurality of measurements from the first optical sensor and a second plurality of measurements from the second optical sensor at a first time.
21 . The patient monitoring system of claim 20 , wherein the first plurality of measurements and the second plurality of measurements are displayed on a user interface.
