Abstract

Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for enabling repeated transmissions. In one embodiment, a method for communicating with a wireless device includes determining a configuration for a number of repetitions of a transmission, the configuration corresponding to a Downlink Control Information, DCI, field; and communicating the configuration to the wireless device. In another embodiment, a method includes receiving a configuration for a number of repetitions of a transmission, the configuration corresponding to a Downlink Control Information, DCI, field.

1 . A network node ( 16 ) configured to communicate with a wireless device ( 22 ) and to schedule a plurality of resources in a single scheduling message for a repeated transmission, the network node ( 16 ) comprising processing circuitry ( 68 ), the processing circuitry ( 68 ) configured to:
 determine a configuration for indicating a number of repetitions for the transmission, the configuration corresponding to a Downlink Control Information, DCI, field; and   communicate the configuration to the wireless device   
     
     
         2 . The network node ( 16 ) of  claim 1 , wherein the processing circuitry ( 68 ) is further configured to communicate the configuration via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling. 
     
     
         3 . The network node ( 16 ) of any one of  claims 1  and  2 , wherein the configuration comprises configuring a number of repetitions corresponding to a value in the DCI field. 
     
     
         4 . The network node ( 16 ) of  claim 3 , wherein the number of repetitions is configured in the wireless device and is selected when said corresponding value in the DCI field is signaled to the wireless device. 
     
     
         5 . The network node ( 16 ) of any one of  claims 1 - 2 , wherein the configuration comprises to a 1-1 mapping of a value in the DCI field to a predefined number of repetitions. 
     
     
         6 . The network node ( 16 ) of any one of  claims 1 - 5 , wherein the configuration comprises a combination of at least one, 1-1 mapping of a value in the DCI field to a predefined number of repetitions and configuring at least one number of repetitions corresponding to a respective value in the DCI field. 
     
     
         7 . The network node ( 16 ) of any one of  claims 1 - 6 , wherein the processing circuitry ( 68 ) is further configured to:
 communicate a DCI message, the DCI message comprising the value in the DCI field.   
     
     
         8 . The network node ( 16 ) of any one of  claims 1 - 7 , wherein if a length of the DCI field is n bits, 2 n  different numbers of repetitions are configurable by the network node ( 16 ), and at least one of the configurable number of repetitions is configured via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling. 
     
     
         9 . The network node ( 16 ) of any one of  claims 1 - 8 , wherein the processing circuitry ( 68 ) is further configured to communicate the configuration via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling, the RRC signaling comprising a parameter configuring the number of repetitions of one of: a Physical Downlink Shared Channel, PDSCH, transmission and a Physical Uplink Shared Channel, PUSCH, transmission. 
     
     
         10 . The network node ( 16 ) of any one of  claims 1 - 9 , wherein the configuration is associated with a table, the table mapping values of the DCI field to repetition values. 
     
     
         11 . The network node ( 16 ) of any of  claims 1 - 10 , wherein the repeated transmission is for a high reliability and/or low latency communication transmission. 
     
     
         12 . A method in a network node configured to communicate with a wireless device ( 22 ) and to schedule a plurality of resources in a single scheduling message for a repeated transmission, the method comprising:
 determining (S 134 ) a configuration for indicating a number of repetitions of the transmission, the configuration corresponding to a Downlink Control Information, DCI, field; and   communicating (S 135 ) the configuration to the wireless device ( 22 ).   
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein the communicating the configuration via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling. 
     
     
         14 . The method of any one of  claims 12  and  13 , wherein the configuration comprises configuring a number of repetitions corresponding to a value in the DCI field. 
     
     
         15 . The method of any one of  claims 12 - 14 , wherein the number of repetitions is configured in the wireless device and is selected when said corresponding value in the DCI field is signaled to the wireless device. 
     
     
         16 . The method of any one of  claims 12 - 14 , wherein the configuration corresponds to a 1-1 mapping of a value in the DCI field to a predefined number of repetitions. 
     
     
         17 . The method of any one of  claims 12 - 16 , wherein the configuration comprises a combination of at least one, 1-1 mapping of a value in the DCI field to a predefined number of repetitions and configuring at least one number of repetitions corresponding to a respective value in the DCI field. 
     
     
         18 . The method of any one of  claims 12 - 17 , further comprising:
 communicating a DCI message, the DCI message comprising the value in the DCI field.   
     
     
         19 . The method of any one of  claims 12 - 18 , wherein if a length of the DCI field is n bits, 2 n  different numbers of repetitions are configurable and at least one of the configurable number of repetitions is configured via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling. 
     
     
         20 . The method of any one of  claims 12 - 19 , wherein the communicating the configuration comprises communicating the configuration via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling, the RRC signaling comprising a parameter configuring the number of repetitions of one of: a Physical Downlink Shared Channel, PDSCH, transmission and a Physical Uplink Shared Channel, PUSCH, transmission. 
     
     
         21 . The method of any one of  claims 12 - 20 , wherein the configuration of the number of repetitions is associated with a table, the table mapping values of the DCI field to repetition values. 
     
     
         22 . The method of any one of  claims 12 - 21 , wherein the repeated transmission is for a high reliability and/or low latency communication transmission. 
     
     
         23 . A wireless device ( 22 ) configured to communicate with a network node ( 16 ), and the network node ( 16 ) scheduling a plurality of resources in a single scheduling message for a repeated transmission, the wireless device ( 22 ) comprising processing circuitry ( 84 ) and a radio interface ( 82 ) in communication with the processing circuitry ( 84 ), the radio interface ( 82 ) configured to:
 receive a configuration for indicating a number of repetitions of the transmission, the configuration corresponding to a Downlink Control Information, DCI, field.   
     
     
         24 . The wireless device ( 22 ) of  claim 23 , wherein the radio interface ( 82 ) is further configured to receive the configuration via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling. 
     
     
         25 . The wireless device ( 22 ) of any one of  claims 23  and  24 , wherein the configuration comprises configuring a number of repetitions corresponding to a value in the DCI field. 
     
     
         26 . The wireless device ( 22 ) of any one of  claims 23 - 24 , wherein the configuration corresponds to a 1-1 mapping of a value in the DCI field to a predefined number of repetitions. 
     
     
         27 . The wireless device ( 22 ) of any one of  claims 23 - 26 , wherein the configuration comprises a combination of at least one, 1-1 mapping of a value in the DCI field to a predefined number of repetitions and configuring at least one number of repetitions corresponding to a respective value in the DCI field. 
     
     
         28 . The wireless device ( 22 ) of any one of  claims 23 - 27 , wherein:
 the radio interface ( 82 ) is further configured to:
 receive a DCI message, the DCI message comprising the value in the DCI field; and 
 receive a Physical Downlink Shared Channel, PDSCH, transmission; and 
   the processing circuitry ( 84 ) is configured to decode the Physical Downlink Shared Channel, PDSCH, transmission based at least in part on a determined number of repetitions of the transmission, wherein the number of repetitions is based on the value in the DCI field.   
     
     
         29 . The wireless device ( 22 ) of  claim 28 , wherein the value in the DCI field indicates the number of repetitions of the transmission is the configured number of repetitions. 
     
     
         30 . The wireless device ( 22 ) of any one of  claims 23 - 29 , wherein if a length of the DCI field is n bits, 2 n  different numbers of repetitions are configurable and at least one of the configurable number of repetitions is configured via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling. 
     
     
         31 . The wireless device ( 22 ) of any one of  claims 23 - 30 , wherein the radio interface ( 82 ) is further configured to receive the configuration via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling, the RRC signaling comprising a parameter configuring the number of repetitions of one of: a Physical Downlink Shared Channel, PDSCH, transmission and a Physical Uplink Shared Channel, PUSCH, transmission. 
     
     
         32 . The wireless device ( 22 ) of any one of  claims 23 - 31 , wherein the configuration is associated with a table, the table mapping values of the DCI field to repetition values. 
     
     
         33 . The wireless device ( 22 ) of any one of  claims 23 - 32 , wherein the repeated transmission is for a high reliability and/or low latency communication transmission. 
     
     
         34 . A method in a wireless device ( 22 ) configured to communicate with a network node ( 16 ) for a repeated transmission, the method comprising:
 receiving (S 136 ) a configuration for a number of repetitions of a transmission, the configuration corresponding to a Downlink Control Information, DCI, field.   
     
     
         35 . The method of  claim 34 , wherein the receiving the configuration is via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling. 
     
     
         36 . The method of any one of  claims 34  and  35 , wherein the configuration comprises configuring a number of repetitions corresponding to a value in the DCI field. 
     
     
         37 . The method of any one of  claims 34 - 35 , wherein the configuration corresponds to a 1-1 mapping of a value in the DCI field to a predefined number of repetitions. 
     
     
         38 . The method of any one of  claims 34 - 37 , wherein the configuration comprises a combination of at least one, 1-1 mapping of a value in the DCI field to a predefined number of repetitions and configuring at least one number of repetitions corresponding to a respective value in the DCI field. 
     
     
         39 . The method of any one of  claims 34 - 38 , further comprising:
 receiving a DCI message, the DCI message comprising the value in the DCI field; and   receiving and decoding a Physical Downlink Shared Channel, PDSCH, transmission based at least in part on a determined number of repetitions of the transmission, wherein the number of repetitions is based on the value in the DCI field.   
     
     
         40 . The wireless device ( 22 ) of  claim 39 , wherein the value in the DCI field indicates the number of repetitions of the transmission is the configured number of repetitions. 
     
     
         41 . The method of any one of  claims 34 - 40 , wherein if a length of the DCI field is n bits, 2 n  different numbers of repetitions are configurable and at least one of the configurable number of repetitions is configured via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling. 
     
     
         42 . The method of any one of  claims 34 - 41 , wherein the receiving the configuration is via Radio Resource Control, RRC, signaling, the RRC signaling comprising a parameter configuring the number of repetitions of one of: a Physical Downlink Shared Channel, PDSCH, transmission and a Physical Uplink Shared Channel, PUSCH, transmission. 
     
     
         43 . The method of any one of  claims 34 - 42 , wherein the configuration is associated with a table, the table mapping values of the DCI field to repetition values. 
     
     
         44 . The method of any one of  claims 34 - 43 , wherein the repeated transmission is for a high reliability and/or low latency communication transmission. 
     
     
         45 . A computer program comprising instructions which when executed on a processor, cause the processor to perform any one of the methods of  claims 12  to  22  or  34  to  42 . 
     
     
         46 . A computer program product or storage medium comprising a computer program according to  claim 45 .
