Abstract

A tyre for vehicle wheels includes a carcass structure with at least one carcass ply formed by strip-like elements consecutively adjacent one after the other along a circumferential extension and having overlap zones along respective longitudinal edges superimposed on each other. Each overlap zone has, along a longitudinal extension thereof, terminal sections that are laterally opposite with respect to an intermediate section. The intermediate section of each overlap zone has an intermediate overlap width greater than a terminal overlap width of the terminal sections.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A tyre for vehicle wheels, comprising:
a carcass structure comprising at least one carcass ply formed by strip-like elements consecutively adjacent one after the other along a circumferential extension, the strip-like elements having overlap zones along respective longitudinal edges superimposed on each other, wherein: each overlap zone has, along a longitudinal extension thereof, terminal sections that are laterally opposite with respect to an intermediate section, and the intermediate section of each overlap zone has an intermediate overlap width greater than a terminal overlap width of the terminal sections.

2 . The tyre as claimed in claim 1 , wherein each overlap zone has an overlap width progressively decreasing away from the intermediate section.

3 . The tyre as claimed in claim 2 , wherein in each overlap zone, the difference between a maximum overlap width detectable in the intermediate section and a minimum overlap width detectable along the terminal sections is less than 0.5 mm.

4 . The tyre as claimed in claim 3 , further comprising a belt structure at a circumferentially outside position to the carcass structure.

5 . The tyre as claimed in claim 4 , wherein each of said strip-like elements has a longitudinal axis parallel to a geometric rotation axis of the tyre.

6 . The tyre as claimed in claim 5 , wherein each of said strip-like elements forms a non-zero angle between a longitudinal axis thereof and a radial plane of the tyre.

7 . The tyre as claimed in claim 6 ,
wherein the carcass structure comprises at least a first carcass ply and a second carcass ply, and wherein strip-like elements belonging to the first carcass ply have longitudinal extensions crossed with longitudinal extensions of strip-like elements belonging to the second carcass ply.

8 . The tyre as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the intermediate section of each overlap zone has an axial size substantially equal to an axial size of the belt structure.
