Claims

Abstract

A polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ. ID NO. 2, 3, 4, 7 or 8. The polypeptide may have the sequence of an immunogenic fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids, wherein the immunogenic fragment is not one of SEQ. ID NOS. 6 or 11 to 16. The polypeptide may have a sequence having at least 80% sequence identity to the aforementioned polypeptide or immunogenic fragment. The polypeptide is less than 100 amino acids in length and does not comprise the sequence of any of SEQ. ID NOS. 10, 46, 56, 57 or 59 to 62 and does not consist of the sequence of SEQ ID NO. 58. The polypeptide is useful in the treatment or prophylaxis of cancer.

1 . A method of treatment or prophylaxis of a cancer in a patient or individual, comprising administering to the patient or individual at least one selected from the group consisting of:
 a) a polypeptide comprising a sequence selected from the group consisting of:
 i) SEQ ID NOS: 1, 7 or 9; and 
 ii) a fragment of i) comprising at least eight amino acids, wherein the fragment is not one of SEQ ID NOS: 6, or 11 to 16, or 56, 
   wherein the polypeptide is less than or equal to 50 amino acids in length and wherein the polypeptide does not comprise the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 10 and does not consist of the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 56;   b) a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding the polypeptide of part a); and   c) a pharmaceutical composition comprising a polypeptide of part a) or a nucleic acid molecule of part b) and a pharmaceutically acceptable adjuvant, diluent or excipient.   
     
     
         2 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the cancer is selected from breast cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, malignant melanoma, a leukemia, a lymphoma, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, or biliary tract carcinoma. 
     
     
         3 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the cancer is selected from lung cancer, melanoma, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer or prostate cancer. 
     
     
         4 . The method according to  claim 1 , part c), wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises a further therapeutic ingredient. 
     
     
         5 . The method according to  claim 1 , part c), wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises the polypeptide in a dose of between 1 and 500 μg. 
     
     
         6 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide is coupled to an immunogenic carrier. 
     
     
         7 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide is linked to a further substance. 
     
     
         8 . The method according to  claim 7 , wherein the further substance is selected from the group consisting of lipids, sugar, sugar chains, acetyl groups, at least one further polypeptide, natural polymers and synthetic polymers. 
     
     
         9 . The method according to  claim 8 , wherein the polypeptide is in the form of a lipopeptide conjugate. 
     
     
         10 . A method of treatment or prophylaxis of a cancer in a patient or individual, comprising administering to the patient or individual at least one selected from the group consisting of:
 a) a cocktail of polypeptides comprising at least first and second different polypeptides wherein the first polypeptide comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of:
 i) SEQ ID NO: 1; and 
 ii) a fragment of i) comprising at least eight amino acids, 
   and wherein the second polypeptide comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of:
 iii) SEQ ID NOS: 2 to 10; and 
 iv) a fragment of iii) comprising at least eight amino acids; 
   wherein each polypeptide is less than or equal to 50 amino acids in length;   b) a cocktail of nucleic acid molecules comprising at least first and second different nucleic acid molecules, each comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide of part a); and   c) a pharmaceutical composition comprising a cocktail of polypeptides of part a) or a cocktail of nucleic acid molecules of part b) and a pharmaceutically acceptable adjuvant, diluent or excipient.   
     
     
         11 . The method according to  claim 10 , wherein the at least first and second different polypeptides comprise a cocktail of polypeptides selected from the group consisting of:
 i) a cocktail of: a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 7 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; and a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids;   ii) a cocktail of: a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 8 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; and a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; and   iii) a cocktail of: a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 8 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; and a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 10 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids,   wherein each polypeptide is less than or equal to 50 amino acids in length.   
     
     
         12 . The method according to  claim 10 , wherein the cancer is selected from breast cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, malignant melanoma, a leukemia, a lymphoma, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, or biliary tract carcinoma. 
     
     
         13 . The method according to  claim 10 , wherein the cancer is selected from lung cancer, melanoma, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer or prostate cancer. 
     
     
         14 . The method according to  claim 10 , part c), wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises a further therapeutic ingredient. 
     
     
         15 . The method according to  claim 10 , part c), wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises the cocktail of polypeptides in a dose of between 1 and 500 μg. 
     
     
         16 . The method according to  claim 10 , wherein a polypeptide in the cocktail of polypeptides is coupled to an immunogenic carrier. 
     
     
         17 . The method according  claim 10 , wherein a polypeptide in the cocktail of polypeptides is linked to a further substance. 
     
     
         18 . The method according to  claim 17 , wherein the further substance is selected from the group consisting of lipids, sugar, sugar chains, acetyl groups, at least one further polypeptide, natural polymers and synthetic polymers. 
     
     
         19 . The method according to  claim 18 , wherein a polypeptide in the cocktail of polypeptides is in the form of a lipopeptide conjugate. 
     
     
         20 . A method of treatment or prophylaxis of a cancer in a patient or individual, comprising administering to the patient or individual at least one selected from the group consisting of:
 a) a cocktail of polypeptides, wherein the cocktail of polypeptides is selected from the group consisting of:
 i) a cocktail of: a polypeptide consisting of the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1; a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 7 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; and a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; 
 ii) a cocktail of: a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; a polypeptide consisting of the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 7; and a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; and 
 iii) a cocktail of: a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 7 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; and a polypeptide consisting of the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9, 
   wherein each polypeptide is less than or equal to 50 amino acids in length;   b) a cocktail of nucleic acid molecules, wherein the cocktail of nucleic acid molecules is selected from the group consisting of:
 iv) a cocktail of: a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide consisting of the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1; a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 7 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; and a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; 
 v) a cocktail of: a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide consisting of the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 7; and a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; and 
 vi) a cocktail of: a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 7 or a fragment thereof comprising at least eight amino acids; and a nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide consisting of the sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9, 
   wherein each encoded polypeptide is less than or equal to 50 amino acids in length,   c) a pharmaceutical composition comprising a cocktail of polypeptides of part a) or a cocktail of nucleic acid molecules of part b) and a pharmaceutically acceptable adjuvant, diluent or excipient.   
     
     
         21 . The method according to  claim 20 , wherein the cancer is selected from breast cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, malignant melanoma, a leukemia, a lymphoma, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, or biliary tract carcinoma. 
     
     
         22 . The method according to  claim 20 , wherein the cancer is selected from lung cancer, melanoma, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer or prostate cancer. 
     
     
         23 . The method according to  claim 20 , part c), wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises a further therapeutic ingredient. 
     
     
         24 . The method according to  claim 20 , part c), wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises the cocktail of polypeptides in a dose of between 1 and 500 μg. 
     
     
         25 . The method according to  claim 20 , wherein a polypeptide in the cocktail of polypeptides is coupled to an immunogenic carrier. 
     
     
         26 . The method according  claim 20 , wherein a polypeptide in the cocktail of polypeptides is linked to a further substance. 
     
     
         27 . The method according to  claim 26 , wherein the further substance is selected from the group consisting of lipids, sugar, sugar chains, acetyl groups, at least one further polypeptide, natural polymers and synthetic polymers. 
     
     
         28 . The method according to  claim 27 , wherein a polypeptide in the cocktail of polypeptides is in the form of a lipopeptide conjugate.
