Abstract

A system and methods for facilitating transactions relating to slots in a content promoter's performance. The system allows content promoters to publish available slots in their performances and receive submissions from artists requesting their content be presented in those slots. The system facilitates transactions between promoters and artists using an escrow and “proof of play” system. The escrow system charges an artist in advance for content submitted to be presented, but holds payment of those charges until after the promoter has presented the content and proof of play has been confirmed. Proof of play may be directly confirmed by the artist, may be confirmed by the system, or may be provided to the artist in an audiovisual recording made by the promoter. The escrow and proof of play system helps protect promoters and artists against potential default by either party to the transaction.

1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . A method performed by a computing system for obtaining proof of play information of digital media content presented by a content promoter, the method comprising:
receiving from a content promoter, by the computing system, event information associated with an event in which a content promoter will be participating, the event information including information about a time slot at the event during which the content promoter has agreed to present digital media content of an artist; determining, by the computing system, a time remaining before the time slot in which the digital media content is scheduled to be presented by the content promoter; based on the determined time remaining, transmitting to the content promoter a reminder notification of the agreement to present the digital media content during the scheduled presentation time slot; providing, to the content promoter, an application or interface configured to allow the content promoter to capture proof of play information providing evidence that the content promoter has presented the digital media content of the artist at the agreed time slot; and receiving, by the computing system, the proof of play information captured by the content promoter, the proof of play information comprising an indication that the digital media content has been presented by the content promoter during the time slot.

22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the reminder notification is transmitted to the content promoter via a push notification on a mobile device.

23 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the proof of play information further comprises metadata captured by the application or interface comprising at least one of a time, a date, or a geolocation.

24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the proof of play information comprises a video or audio recording of at least some of the presentation of the digital media content.

25 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the time remaining until the scheduled presentation slot is determined by number of remaining presentation slots prior to the scheduled presentation slot.

26 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising transmitting, to the content promoter, a second reminder notification of the agreement to present the digital media content.

27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the second reminder notification is transmitted at the time of the agreed presentation time slot.

28 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the application or interface provides the content promoter with a button, a link, or a control that allows the content promoter to capture the proof of play information.

29 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
storing the received proof of play information; and transmitting, to the artist, a link to the stored proof of play information to allow the artist to review the proof of play information.

30 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the digital media content is a music track, a video, a digital image, or any combination thereof.

31 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the content promoter is a disc jockey, streamer, internet celebrity, podcaster, or influencer.

32 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium carrying instructions that, when executed by a computing system, cause the computing system to perform operations comprising:
receiving from a content promoter, by the computing system, event information associated with an event in which a content promoter will be participating, the event information including information about a time slot at the event during which the content promoter has agreed to present digital media content of an artist; determining, by the computing system, a time remaining before the time slot in which the digital media content is scheduled to be presented by the content promoter; based on the determined time remaining, transmitting to the content promoter a reminder notification of the agreement to present the digital media content during the scheduled presentation time slot; providing, to the content promoter, an application or interface configured to allow the content promoter to capture proof of play information providing evidence that the content promoter has presented the digital media content of the artist at the agreed time slot; and receiving, by the computing system, the proof of play information captured by the content promoter, the proof of play information comprising an indication that the digital media content has been presented by the content promoter during the time slot.

33 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 32 , wherein the reminder notification is transmitted to the content promoter via a push notification on a mobile device.

34 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 32 , wherein the proof of play information further comprises metadata captured by the application or interface comprising at least one of a time, a date, or a geolocation.

35 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 32 , wherein the proof of play information comprises a video or audio recording of at least some of the presentation of the digital media content.

36 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 32 , wherein the instructions further cause the computing system to transmit, to the content promoter, a second reminder notification of the agreement to present the digital media content.

37 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 36 , wherein the second reminder notification is transmitted at the time of the agreed presentation time slot.

38 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 32 , wherein the instructions further cause the computing system to perform operations comprising:
storing the received proof of play information; and transmitting, to the artist, a link to the stored proof of play information to allow the artist to review the proof of play information.

39 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 32 , wherein the digital media content is a music track, a video, a digital image, or any combination thereof.

40 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 32 , wherein the content promoter is a disc jockey, streamer, internet celebrity, podcaster, or influencer.
