Claims

Abstract

Methods for protecting wooden materials from termite infestation include the steps of providing an insect control composition consisting of 5%-35% by weight cold pressed orange oil containing a concentration of at least 80% D-Limonene, 20%-50% by weight modified acrylic emulsion copolymer, 1%-10% by weight dipropylene glycol methyl ether, 1%-5% by weight polysiloxane polymer, 1%-5% by weight amine solution, and 20%-60% by weight water, and applying to the wooden material the insect control composition where protection against termites is desired. Other methods for protecting wooden materials from termite infestation include the steps of providing one or more of the disclosed insect control compositions and applying to the wooden material the respective to insect control composition. Applying the insect control composition to the wooden material preferably includes spraying, dipping or applying by paint roller brush the insect control composition to the wooden material.

The claimed invention is: 
     
         1 . A method for protecting a wooden material from termite infestation, comprising the steps of:
 providing an insect control composition consisting of:
 5%-35% by weight cold pressed orange oil containing a concentration of at least 80% D-Limonene; 
 20%-50% by weight modified acrylic emulsion copolymer; 
 1%-10% by weight dipropylene glycol methyl ether; 
 1%-5% by weight polysiloxane polymer; 
 1%-5% by weight amine solution; and 
 20%-60% by weight water; and 
   applying to the wooden material the insect control composition where protection against termites is desired.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the cold pressed orange oil consists of a D-Limonene concentration of at least 90%. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the cold pressed orange oil consists of a D-Limonene concentration of at least 95%. 
     
     
         4 . A method for protecting a wooden material from termite infestation, comprising the steps of:
 providing an insect control composition consisting of:
 5%-35% by weight cold pressed orange oil containing a concentration of at least 80% D-Limonene; 
 20%-50% by weight modified acrylic emulsion copolymer; 
 1%-10% by weight dipropylene glycol methyl ether; 
 1%-5% by weight polysiloxane polymer; 
 1%-5% by weight amine solution; 
 20%-60% by weight water; and 
 0.1%-1% by weight food grade preservative, wherein the food grade preservative is sodium benzoate; and 
   applying to the wooden material the insect control composition where protection against termites is desired.   
     
     
         5 . A method for protecting a wooden material from termite infestation, comprising the steps of:
 providing an insect control composition consisting of:
 5%-35% by weight cold pressed orange oil containing a concentration of at least 80% D-Limonene; 
 20%-50% by weight modified acrylic emulsion copolymer; 
 1%-10% by weight dipropylene glycol methyl ether; 
 1%-5% by weight polysiloxane polymer; 
 1%-5% by weight amine solution; 
 20%-60% by weight water; and 
 1%-30% by weight pure boric acid in powder form; and 
   applying to the wooden material the insect control composition where protection against termites is desired.   
     
     
         6 . A method for protecting a wooden material from termite infestation, comprising the steps of:
 providing an insect control composition consisting of:
 5%-35% by weight cold pressed orange oil containing a concentration of at least 80% D-Limonene; 
 20%-50% by weight modified acrylic emulsion copolymer; 
 1%-10% by weight dipropylene glycol methyl ether; 
 1%-5% by weight polysiloxane polymer; 
 1%-5% by weight amine solution; 
 20%-60% by weight water; and further comprising 
 1%-30% by weight pure boric acid powder, wherein said composition containing said pure boric acid has a lower viscosity than said composition without pure boric acid powder; and 
   applying to the wooden material the insect control composition where protection against termites is desired.   
     
     
         7 . A method for protecting a wooden material from termite infestation, comprising the steps of:
 providing an insect control composition consisting of:
 5%-35% by weight cold pressed orange oil containing a concentration of at least 80% D-Limonene; 
 20%-50% by weight modified acrylic emulsion copolymer; 
 1%-10% by weight dipropylene glycol methyl ether; 
 1%-5% by weight polysiloxane polymer; 
 1%-5% by weight amine solution; 
 20%-60% by weight water; and 
 1%-30% by weight pure boric acid in liquid form; and 
   applying to the wooden material the insect control composition where protection against termites is desired.   
     
     
         8 . A method for protecting a wooden material from termite infestation, comprising the steps of:
 providing an insect control composition consisting of:
 5%-30% by weight of D-Limonene; 
 1%-20% by weight cold pressed castor oil as a non-toxic emulsifying agent; 
 20%-50% by weight modified acrylic emulsion copolymer; 
 1%-10% by weight dipropylene glycol methyl ether; 
 1%-5% by weight polysiloxane polymer; 
 1%-5% by weight amine solution; and 
 20%-60% by weight water; and 
   applying to the wooden material the insect control composition where protection against termites is desired.   
     
     
         9 . A method for protecting a wooden material from termite infestation, comprising the steps of:
 providing an insect control composition consisting of:
 5%-30% by weight of D-Limonene; 
 1%-20% by weight cold pressed castor oil as a non-toxic emulsifying agent; 
 20%-50% by weight modified acrylic emulsion copolymer; 
 1%-10% by weight dipropylene glycol methyl ether; 
 1%-5% by weight polysiloxane polymer; 
 1%-5% by weight amine solution; 
 20%-60% by weight water; and 
 0.1%-1% by weight food grade preservative wherein the food grade preservative is sodium benzoate; and 
   applying to the wooden material the insect control composition where protection against termites is desired.   
     
     
         10 . A method for protecting a wooden material from termite infestation, comprising the steps of:
 providing an insect control composition consisting of:
 5%-30% by weight of D-Limonene; 
 1%-20% by weight cold pressed castor oil as a non-toxic emulsifying agent; 
 20%-50% by weight modified acrylic emulsion copolymer; 
 1%-10% by weight dipropylene glycol methyl ether; 
 1%-5% by weight polysiloxane polymer; 
 1%-5% by weight amine solution; 
 20%-60% by weight water; and 
 1%-30% by weight pure boric acid; and 
   applying to the wooden material the insect control composition where protection against termites is desired.   
     
     
         11 . A method for protecting a wooden material from termite infestation, comprising the steps of:
 providing an insect control composition consisting of:
 5%-35% by weight D-Limonene; 
 5%-15% by weight surfactant; 
 20%-50% by weight modified acrylic emulsion copolymer; 
 1%-10% by weight dipropylene glycol methyl ether; 
 1%-5% by weight polysiloxane polymer; 
 1%-5% by weight amine solution; 
 5%-15% by weight water; 
 1%-30% by weight pure boric acid; and 
   applying to the wooden material the insect control composition where protection against termites is desired.
