Abstract
A computer-implemented system and method for performing social network secure transactions is provided. One or more social media platforms are monitored and a message is intercepted from one of the social media platforms. The message includes a recipient and payment information for a payment to be made to the recipient from a sender of the message. A validation of the payment information with respect to the sender of the message is performed by generating a validation score for the payment information and determining that the validation score satisfies a threshold. A notification of the payment is provided to the recipient upon satisfaction of the threshold by the validation score.

1 . A computer-implemented system for performing social network secure transactions, comprising:
a database configured to store a list of recipients; a server comprising a central processing unit, memory, an input port configured to receive the list of recipients from the database, and an output port, wherein the central processing unit is configured to:
monitor one or more social media platforms;
obtain from one of the social media platforms a message comprising one of the recipients and payment information for a payment to be made to the recipient from a sender of the message;
perform a validation of the payment information with respect to the sender of the message, comprising:
generate a validation score for the payment information; and
determine that the validation score satisfies a threshold; and
provide a notification of the payment to the recipient upon satisfaction of the threshold by the validation score.
2 . A system according to claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the payment information is provided via a photograph.
3 . A system according to claim 2 , wherein the central processing unit generates a link to access the payment information and provides the link in the notification.
4 . A system according to claim 1 , wherein the validation score is determined by assigning a value to each piece of payment information and calculating the validation score by summing the values for each piece of payment information.
5 . A system according to claim 4 , wherein the central processing unit assigns a binary score or a score between zero and 1 to each of the pieces of payment information as the value.
6 . A system according to claim 1 , wherein the payment information comprises one or more of an account, amount, signature, and payment method.
7 . A system according to claim 1 , wherein the recipient is identified by a name, nickname, or hashtag.
8 . A system according to claim 7 , wherein the hashtag is stored with a list of other hashtags, each associated with a different recipient.
9 . A system according to claim 1 , wherein the validation comprises one or more of whether the sender has a relationship with the recipient, whether a signature of the sender is correct, and whether funds of the sender exceed a value of the payment.
10 . A system according to claim 1 , wherein the verification is performed by the social networking platform from which the message originated.
11 . A computer-implemented method for performing social network secure transactions, comprising:
monitoring one or more social media platforms; intercepting from one of the social media platforms a message comprising a recipient and payment information for a payment to be made to the recipient from a sender of the message; performing a validation of the payment information with respect to the sender of the message, comprising:
generating a validation score for the payment information; and
determining that the validation score satisfies a threshold; and
providing a notification of the payment to the recipient upon satisfaction of the threshold by the validation score.
12 . A method according to claim 11 , wherein at least a portion of the payment information is provided via a photograph.
13 . A method according to claim 12 , further comprising:
generating a link to access the payment information; and providing the link in the notification.
14 . A method according to claim 11 , further comprising:
determining the validation score, comprising:
assigning a value to each piece of payment information; and
calculating the validation score by summing the values for each piece of payment information.
15 . A method according to claim 14 , further comprising:
assigning a binary score or a score between zero and 1 to each of the pieces of payment information as the value.
16 . A method according to claim 11 , wherein the payment information comprises one or more of an account, amount, signature, and payment method.
17 . A method according to claim 11 , wherein the recipient is identified by a name, nickname, or hashtag.
18 . A method according to claim 17 , further comprising:
storing the hashtag with a list of other hashtags, each associated with a different recipient.
