Abstract
A portable device is configured to perform a touch input method. The method includes determining whether an input for selecting a specific divided area is detected in a divided touch area on a screen divided into a plurality of areas. The method also includes, if the input for selecting the specific divided area is detected, moving the selected specific divided area to the divided touch area. The method further includes, if a specific input occurs in the selected specific divided area moved to the divided touch area, performing a function of an item indicated by the specific input.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An electronic device comprising:
a touch display; and at least one processor; and at least one memory including instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the electronic device to:
enable a recognition function of the electronic device for detecting touch inputs in a predetermined area of the touch display, wherein the recognition function is enabled based on a user setting of the electronic device;
display, via the touch display, a user interface screen, the user interface screen divided into a plurality of parts, wherein a first part of the plurality of parts includes an application icon, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to execute an application corresponding to the application icon in a full screen in response to detecting a user input on the application icon, and wherein a second part of the plurality of parts is displayed above the first part in an upper portion of the touch display;
detect, based on the enabled recognition function, a touch input in the predetermined area of the touch display; and
after the detection of the touch input, change the user interface screen such that the second part of the plurality of parts is displayed in a lower portion of the touch display with the application icon of the first part absent from the lower portion of the touch display.
2 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one memory further includes instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the electronic device to, in response to receiving another touch input, execute a function of the electronic device indicated by the another touch input.
3 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the detected touch input is detected over a portion of a plurality of application icons.
4 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one memory further includes instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the electronic device to, in response to changing the user interface screen, display a user interface element signaling to provide another touch input in another predetermined area of the touch display.
5 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the detected touch input corresponds to an input pattern associated with the recognition function, wherein the input pattern is set to move the displayed user interface screen.
6 . The electronic device of claim 5 , wherein the input pattern is in a form of a designated shape.
7 . The electronic device of claim 5 , wherein the input pattern is detected over a portion of a plurality of application icons.
8 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the first part of the plurality of parts includes a plurality of application icons.
9 . The electronic device of claim 8 , wherein changing the user interface screen causes the plurality of application icons of the first part to be absent from the lower portion of the touch display.
10 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein when the second part is displayed in the lower portion of the touch display, an amount of blank space is provided adjacent the second part.
11 . A method comprising:
enabling a recognition function of an electronic device for detecting touch inputs in a predetermined area of a touch display of the electronic device, wherein the recognition function is enabled based on a user setting of the electronic device; displaying, via the touch display, a user interface screen, the user interface screen divided into a plurality of parts, wherein a first part of the plurality of parts includes an application icon, wherein an application corresponding to the application icon is executed in a full screen in response to detecting a user input on the application icon, and wherein a second part of the plurality of parts is displayed above the first part in an upper portion of the touch display; detecting, based on the enabled recognition function, a touch input in the predetermined area of the touch display; and after detecting the touch input, changing the user interface screen such that the second part of the plurality of parts is displayed in a lower portion of the touch display with the application icon of the first part absent from the lower portion of the touch display.
12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising, in response to receiving another touch input, execute a function of the electronic device indicated by the another touch input.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the detected touch input is detected over a portion of a plurality of application icons.
14 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising, in response to changing the user interface screen, display a user interface element signaling to provide another touch input in another predetermined area of the touch display.
15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the detected touch input corresponds to an input pattern associated with the recognition function, wherein the input pattern is set to move the displayed user interface screen.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the input pattern is in a form of a designated shape.
17 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the input pattern is detected over a portion of a plurality of application icons.
18 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the first part of the plurality of parts includes a plurality of application icons.
19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein changing the user interface screen causes the plurality of application icons of the first part to be absent from the lower portion of the touch display.
20 . The method of claim 11 , wherein when the second part is displayed in the lower portion of the touch display, an amount of blank space is provided adjacent the second part.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
