Abstract

Systems and methods are provided for control of a personal computing device based on user face detection and recognition techniques.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . (canceled)

         2 . A computing device, comprising:
 a display; one or more sensors; one or more processors; and memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:
 while displaying, via the display, a first user interface, determining whether a rule set is met, wherein the rule set includes a rule that is met when a face of a user is not detected via the one or more sensors for a predetermined period of time;
 in accordance with a determination that the rule set is met, ceasing to display the first user interface; and
 in accordance with a determination that the rule set is not met, continuing to display the first user interface.

         3 . The computing device of claim 2 , wherein the one or more sensors include an image sensor.

         4 . The computing device of claim 2 , wherein detecting the face of a user includes detecting an authorized face.

         5 . The computing device of claim 2 , wherein ceasing to display the first user interface includes displaying a screen saver.

         6 . The computing device of claim 2 , wherein ceasing to display the first user interface includes turning off the display.

         7 . The computing device of claim 2 , wherein the rule set includes a rule that is met when the user is not viewing the first user interface.

         8 . The computing device of claim 2 , wherein the rule set includes a rule that is met when a user has not interacted with the computing device for a predetermined period of time.

         9 . A method for controlling a computing device with a display and one or more sensors, the method comprising:
 while displaying, via the display, a first user interface, determining whether a rule set is met, wherein the rule set includes a rule that is met when a face of a user is not detected via the one or more sensors for a predetermined period of time; in accordance with a determination that the rule set is met, ceasing to display the first user interface; and in accordance with a determination that the rule set is not met, continuing to display the first user interface.

         10 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs configured to executed by one or more processors of a computing device with a display and one or more sensors, the one or more programs including instructions for:
 while displaying, via the display, a first user interface, determining whether a rule set is met, wherein the rule set includes a rule that is met when a face of a user is not detected via the one or more sensors for a predetermined period of time; in accordance with a determination that the rule set is met, ceasing to display the first user interface; and in accordance with a determination that the rule set is not met, continuing to display the first user interface.
