Abstract
A curb stop structure and method of use having a supporting base, an upstanding body having an open top, the body including at least one horizontal slit and one vertical slit intersecting the horizontal slit.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of using a curb stop structure, the structure having a supporting base member with a top surface; a body upstanding normal to said top surface, said body having an open top, an interior, and a wall; a first abutment member, said first abutment member located on said top surface of said base member and adjacent to said outer wall surface of said body at a first area; a first vertical slit, said first vertical slit being in alignment with said first abutment member and extending from said open top toward said first abutment member; a second abutment member, said second abutment member located on said top surface of said base member and adjacent to said outer wall surface of said body at a second area; a second vertical slit, said second vertical slit being in alignment with said second abutment member and extending from said open top toward said second abutment member; and wherein said first and said second vertical slits are equally spaced from one another around said body in diametrically opposite alignment, the method including the steps of:
flexing said body outwardly along said first and second vertical slits; moving a curb stop valve through said open top and into said interior of said curb stop structure; and aligning said curb stop valve with said first and said second vertical slits.
2 . The method of claim 1 including the further steps of:
providing said curb stop structure with at least one horizontal slit, said at least one horizontal slit intersecting one of said first and said second vertical slits and including a plurality of flexible flaps adjacent said at least one horizontal slit;
moving said curb stop valve into said plurality of flexible flaps; and
seating said curb stop valve in alignment with said first and said second vertical slits.
3 . The method of claim 1 including the further steps of:
seating said curb stop valve against at least one of said first abutment member and second abutment member; and
flexing said body inwardly along said vertical slits.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
