Managing contact-control privileges via managing client device interfaces

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for dynamically providing a activity dashboard for display within a graphical user interface. In particular, the disclosed systems can intelligently display, within the activity dashboard, insights of digital activity within an application of a child account. For example, the disclosed systems can monitor digital activity associated with recent contacts and groups, contact updates, and digital media items exchanged in messaging chat threads. In turn, the disclosed system can selectively surface one or more portions (and/or indications) of the monitored digital activity in the activity dashboard along with corresponding actionable options available for user selection. In response to user interaction with the actionable options corresponding to the selectively surfaced digital activity, the disclosed systems can intuitively modify the child account to regulate viewable content and digital communications with third-party child accounts.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
 generating a dependent messaging account associated with a dependent client device, the dependent messaging account linked to a managing account corresponding to a managing client device;   monitoring digital activity of the dependent messaging account, the digital activity comprising one or more of adding a contact, blocking a contact, or commenting on a contact and   providing, for display within a user interface of the managing client device, an activity dashboard for regulating contacts for the dependent messaging account, the activity dashboard displaying one or more indicators of changes made to contacts of the dependent messaging account from the monitored digital activity of the dependent messaging account.   
     
     
         2 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 providing, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a list of contacts of the dependent messaging account;   receiving a selection of a contact in the list of contacts of the dependent messaging account to delete; and   causing the contact to be removed from the list of contacts of the dependent messaging account on the dependent client device.   
     
     
         3 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 providing, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a contact not included in the contacts of the dependent messaging account;   receiving a selection to add of the contact displayed within the user interface of the managing client device to the contacts of the dependent messaging account; and   causing the contact to be added to the contacts of the dependent messaging account on the dependent client device.   
     
     
         4 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 determining a count of a number of digital communications between the dependent messaging account and an additional messaging account; and   generating, for display within the activity dashboard on the managing client device, a digital activity indicator notifying the managing account of the count of the number of digital communications between the dependent messaging account and the additional messaging account.   
     
     
         5 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 providing, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a list of contacts of the dependent messaging account;   receiving a selection to block a contact in the list of contacts of the dependent messaging account; and   causing the contact to be blocked from communicating with the dependent messaging account on the dependent client device.   
     
     
         6 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 providing, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a first option to allow the dependent messaging account to add contacts to the dependent messaging account;   providing, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a second option to allow only the managing account to add contacts to the dependent messaging account; and   restricting access to add contacts to the dependent messaging account based on a selection of the first option or the second option.   
     
     
         7 . The computer-implemented method of  claim 1 , further comprising providing, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a selectable option to delegate contact-control permissions to a common trusted contact account. 
     
     
         8 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:
 generating a dependent messaging account associated with a dependent client device, the dependent messaging account linked to a managing account corresponding to a managing client device;   monitoring digital activity of the dependent messaging account, the digital activity comprising one or more of adding a contact, blocking a contact, or commenting on a contact and   providing, for display within a user interface of the managing client device, an activity dashboard for regulating contacts for the dependent messaging account, the activity dashboard displaying one or more indicators of changes made to contacts of the dependent messaging account from the monitored digital activity of the dependent messaging account.   
     
     
         9 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 providing, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a list of contacts of the dependent messaging account;   receiving a selection of a contact in the list of contacts of the dependent messaging account to delete; and   causing the contact to be removed from the list of contacts of the dependent messaging account on the dependent client device.   
     
     
         10 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 providing, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a contact not included in the contacts of the dependent messaging account;   receiving a selection to add of the contact displayed within the user interface of the managing client device to the contacts of the dependent messaging account; and   causing the contact to be added to the contacts of the dependent messaging account on the dependent client device.   
     
     
         11 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 determining a count of a number of digital communications between the dependent messaging account and an additional messaging account; and   generating, for display within the activity dashboard on the managing client device, a digital activity indicator notifying the managing account of the count of the number of digital communications between the dependent messaging account and the additional messaging account.   
     
     
         12 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 providing, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a list of contacts of the dependent messaging account;   receiving a selection to block a contact in the list of contacts of the dependent messaging account; and   causing the contact to be blocked from communicating with the dependent messaging account on the dependent client device.   
     
     
         13 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 providing, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a first option to allow the dependent messaging account to add contacts to the dependent messaging account;   providing, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a second option to allow only the managing account to add contacts to the dependent messaging account; and   restricting access to add contacts to the dependent messaging account based on a selection of the first option or the second option.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise: providing, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a selectable option to delegate contact-control permissions to a common trusted contact account. 
     
     
         15 . A system comprising:
 one or more memory devices; and   one or more processing devices, coupled to the one or more memory devices, that cause the system to:   generate a dependent messaging account associated with a dependent client device, the dependent messaging account linked to a managing account corresponding to a managing client device;   monitor digital activity of the dependent messaging account, the digital activity comprising one or more of adding a contact, blocking a contact, or commenting on a contact and   provide, for display within a user interface of the managing client device, an activity dashboard for regulating contacts for the dependent messaging account, the activity dashboard displaying one or more indicators of changes made to contacts of the dependent messaging account from the monitored digital activity of the dependent messaging account.   
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the one or more processing devices further cause the system to:
 provide, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a list of contacts of the dependent messaging account;   receive a selection of a contact in the list of contacts of the dependent messaging account to delete; and   cause the contact to be removed from the list of contacts of the dependent messaging account on the dependent client device.   
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the one or more processing devices further cause the system to:
 provide, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a contact not included in the contacts of the dependent messaging account;   receive a selection to add of the contact displayed within the user interface of the managing client device to the contacts of the dependent messaging account; and   cause the contact to be added to the contacts of the dependent messaging account on the dependent client device.   
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the one or more processing devices further cause the system to:
 provide, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a list of contacts of the dependent messaging account;   receive a selection to block a contact in the list of contacts of the dependent messaging account; and   cause the contact to be blocked from communicating with the dependent messaging account on the dependent client device.   
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the one or more processing devices further cause the system to:
 provide, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a first option to allow the dependent messaging account to add contacts to the dependent messaging account;   provide, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a second option to allow only the managing account to add contacts to the dependent messaging account; and   restrict access to add contacts to the dependent messaging account based on a selection of the first option or the second option.   
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 15 , wherein the one or more processing devices further cause the system to: provide, for display within the user interface of the managing client device, a selectable option to delegate contact-control permissions to a common trusted contact account.
