Medical services tracking system and method
Abstract
Some embodiments include a system and computer-implemented method for aggregating and tracking medical delivery to a patient including a non-transitory computer- readable medium in data communication with at least one processor, where the non-transitory computer-readable medium includes software instructions for a medical services tracking system and method. Upon execution of the software instructions, information from a patient database or server can be received and displayed a medical record dashboard. A user can view and edit access to the information, and a user selectable link can display medical record information. The system and method enable auto-population of medical data entry fields based at least one part on at least one claim made or billing signed off by a physician for at least one medical service or procedure previously provided to or performed on at least one patient.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A computer implemented method comprising:
generating a medical record display including information received or derived from a data source, the medical record display comprising a first window for display of information corresponding to multiple elements selected from the group consisting of medical services, clinical data, examination findings, diagnostic tests, images, medical documents, plans, office visits, and procedures performed on one or more patients, the first window comprising data fields for displaying such information received or derived from the data source; arranging the information in the first window according to a date that the multiple elements were performed such that information corresponding to the multiple elements having a same date are displayed and changes over multiple dates are observable; wherein at least one of the data fields is selectable by at least one of a user single click or a hover of a pointer over the at least one selectable data field, to display underlying information corresponding to at least one of the multiple elements on at least one or more windows of the medical record display without navigating away from the first window; accessing claims data to obtain a status of claims corresponding to the information displayed for elements comprising medical services and procedures performed; generating one or more respective indicators, by transforming the accessed claims data, to identify a corresponding status of the claims; and including the one or more respective indicators on the first window.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the information is arranged in rows or columns.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the one or more respective indicators changes in appearance based on a status of an underlying claim changing.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the record display includes a plurality of links associated with the data fields.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein patient data from the data source is at least one of current procedural terminology code (“CPT code”), international classification of disease codes (“ICD code”).
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one data source includes at least one of guidelines, preferred practice patterns, health care associated statistics, or insurance rules that are accessible via a link for inclusion in the record display.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one data field includes at least one of a link, a visual representation, an alert, indicator, visual cue, graphical marker, or icon in addition to patient data.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the record display includes additional links to access additional information to at least two types of medical services, clinical data, examination findings, diagnostic tests, images, procedures, medications, diagnosis, symptoms, condition information, medical documents, plans, and claims.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one of the medical services, clinical data, examination findings, diagnostic tests, images, medical documents, plans, claims, and procedures comprise at least one of an optical coherence tomography, a Fluorescein angiography, an indocyanine green angiography, a photographic image, a visual field test (VF), a Visual acuity, an intraocular pressure an x-ray image, and an MRI scan, or other diagnostic imaging, a full days encounter document, such that the user has access to underlying associated information.
10 . A computer implemented method comprising:
accessing patient data from at least one data source, the data source including data associated with at least one of a time, a medical provider, or a location a patient was cared for, and data related to types of medical information corresponding to medical services, clinical data, examination findings, diagnostic tests, images, procedures, medications, diagnosis, symptoms, condition information, medical documents, plans, and claims; generating a record display having accessed patient data or patient data derived from the accessed patient data in data fields, wherein the patient data corresponds to at least one selected type of medical information and is organized by time in the record display in a first direction and by the at least a first type of medical information in the record display in a second direction different from the first direction, the record display including a second type of medical information positioned to visually correlate the first and second types of medical information over time; enabling a user to access through a link or other method, underlying information associated with the patient data in the data fields; and including at least a portion of the underlying information in the record display such, that patient data in the data fields and the underlying information are accessible to enable user interaction with both the patient data in the data fields and the underlying information, wherein interaction comprises at least one of accessing underlying linked information and writing data, editing, or copying data in the data fields.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the claims data is accessed to obtain a status of claims corresponding to the information displayed for elements comprising medical services and procedures performed, wherein the method further comprises:
generating one or more respective indicators by transforming the accessed claims data to identify a corresponding status of the claims; and including the one or more respective indicators on the record display.
12 . The method of claim 10 , and further comprising populating data, in response to writing data, editing or copying data in the data fields, to the at least one data source, wherein the at least one data source includes at least one electronic health record, health information exchange, picture archiving and communication system, image management system, labs, or practice management system.
13 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the at least two of the types of medical services, clinical data, examination findings, diagnostic tests, images, procedures, medications, diagnosis, symptoms, condition information, medical documents, plans, and claims are arranged in rows or columns on the display according to time.
14 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the computer is configured to link to at least one electronic medical records system, practice management system, pictorial archiving and communication system, labs, health information exchanges.
15 . A computer implemented method comprising:
accessing patient related records data from at least one data source; presenting, to a user display device, a record dashboard that is adapted to integrate at least portions of patient medical service or condition information retrieved from or derived from the at least one data source into respective data fields, wherein respective data are organized by at least one of time and date in one direction and by at least two of medical services, clinical data, examination findings, diagnostic tests, images, medical documents, plans, claims, or procedures used to track the patient's medical condition in another direction, related to the patient, whereby data for the at least two of medical services, clinical data, examination findings, diagnostic tests, images, medical documents, plans, claims, and procedures related to the patient are shown in a corresponding portion of the record dashboard for tracking of changes in the patient's medical service or condition over time or date; populating at least one of the respective data fields with medical records data corresponding to at least two of the respective medical services, clinical data, examination findings, diagnostic tests, images, medical documents, plans, claims, and procedures from the data source; enabling a user to access underlying patient information linked to the medical records data populated into the data fields in the medical record dashboard for the patient; and providing, to the user display device, the underlying patient medical information in a new window on the record dashboard without navigating away from the record dashboard, wherein the record dashboard further comprises at least one window that enables the user to view and edit at least one of information related to the patient of medical services, clinical data, examination findings, diagnostic tests, images, plans, or procedure details of care provided to the patient, clinical findings, medical diagnosis information, plans, and diagnostic test interpretation.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the claims data is accessed to obtain a status of claims corresponding to the information displayed for elements comprising medical services and procedures performed, wherein the method further comprises:
generating one or more respective indicators by transforming the accessed claims data to identify a corresponding status of the claims; and including the one or more respective indicators on the record dashboard.
