Abstract
A disc shaped throwing object comprises a soft disc having a central section and a rim (16) as well as a resilient ring (18) united with the rim (16), where the central section forms a disc centre through which a central axis is defined and which central section is joined to the rim (16), wherein the ring (18) has an untensioned state and a tensioned state, where the ring (18) and rim (16) radially encircle the central axis (AX) when the ring (18) is in the untensioned state and are folded about the central axis when the ring (18) is in the tensioned state.

A disc shaped throwing object comprising a soft disc having a central section and a rim as well as a resilient ring united with the rim, where the central section forms a disc centre through which a central axis (AX) is defined and which central section is joined to the rim, wherein the ring has an untensioned state and a tensioned state, where the ring and rim radially encircle the central axis (AX) when the ring is the untensioned state and the ring and rim are folded about the central axis (AX) when the ring is in the tensioned state.
2 . The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 1 , wherein the ring and rim are folded around a line that is perpendicular to the central axis (AX) when the ring is in the tensioned state.
3 . The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 1 , wherein the ring is placed in the rim.
4 . The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 1 , wherein the ring is a metallic ring.
5 . The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 4 , wherein metallic ring is a shape memory alloy striving to retain the untensioned state.
6 . The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 1 , wherein the weight of the object is 19-31 times higher than the weight of the ring and with advantage 23-24 times higher.
7 . The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 1 , wherein ring has a cross-section with a diameter in the range 0.4-2.0 mm and with advantage of 1.0 mm.
8 . The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 1 , wherein the object has a diameter (D) of 150-300 mm and with advantage 210 mm.
9 . The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 8 , wherein the ring has an outer diameter in the range of 140-295 mm and with advantage 203 mm.
10 . The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 1 , wherein the soft disc has a Shore D hardness of 40-90 and preferably of 50-70.
11 . The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 1 , wherein the material of the soft disc is an elastomer, such as silicone, rubber, a thermoplastic elastomer or a thermoplastic rubber.
12 . The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 1 , further comprising a bridging section, wherein the central section is joined to the rim via the bridging section and the thickness of the bridging section decreases from the rim towards the central section.

The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 12 , wherein the rim comprises an inner surface (RIS) radially displaced from the central axis and a sequence of curved contour sections (CS 1 , CS 2 , CS 3 , CS 4 ), where the inner surface (RIS) of the rim is at one end joined to an inner surface (BSIS) of the bridging section and at a second end is joined to an outer surface (BSOS) of the bridging section via said contour sections (CS 1 , CS 2 , CS 3 CS 4 ), where the contour sections (CS 1 , CS 2 , CS 3 , CS 4 ) interconnect the inner surface (RIS) of the rim with the outer surface (BSOS) of the bridging section via a first extreme radius (ER 1 ) placed at a maximum horizontal distance from the inner surface (RIS) of the rim, wherein the inner surface (BSIS) of the bridging section has a first curvature and a last contour section (CS 4 ) in the sequence together with at least a part of the outer surface (BSOS) of the second air cushion section has a second, different curvature), the rim further comprising a second extreme radius (ER 2 ) placed at a maximum distance along the central axis (AX) from an outer surface (CSOS) of the disc centre.
14 . The disc shaped throwing object according to claim 13 , wherein the ring is located between the first extreme radius (ER 1 ) and the second extreme radius (ER 2 ) in the axial direction.
