Abstract

A system for testing the effectiveness of webpage configurations is disclosed. Tags indicating dependency between sections of a webpage may be associated with the sections. In response to a version of a first section of a webpage being tested, an associated tag may indicate that the content or behavior of a second section is dependent on the first section. A webpage configuration including content of the first section, and corresponding behavior and content of the second section, may be transmitted to a web client. Data may be collected indicating the effectiveness of the webpage configuration.

 selecting a version of the first section of the webpage based on the identified user from among at least the first version of the first section and the second version of the first section;
 verifying that the version the second section to be selected for the webpage depends on the version of the first section selected for the webpage by checking the interdependency tag associated with the first section and the second section of the webpage; and
 selecting the version of the second section of the webpage from among at least the first version of the second section and the second section of the second section based on the interdependency tag associated With the first section and the second section of the webpage; and
   transmitting, by the server computing device, the configured web page to the client computing device of the user.

         2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user of the client computing device is identified based upon an IP address of the client computing device that is included in the request to access the webpage.

         3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein a purchase history of the user is reviewed to select the version of the first section of the webpage for the user.

         4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising monitoring, by the server computing device, the client computing device to obtain effectiveness data associated with the configured webpage.

         5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the effectiveness data comprises at least one of number of user clicks, number of user enrollments, amount of time spent on the webpage, or user survey responses.

         6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the interdependency tag further indicates that a content of the second section of the webpage depends on the content of the first section of the webpage.

         7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the interdependency tag further indicates that a behavior of the second section of the webpage depends on the content of the first section of the webpage.

         8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the interdependency tag specifically indicates that drop-down menu is to be used to display the content of the second section when a first version of the first section of the webpage is selected.

         9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the webpage comprises a transaction account webpage and the first and second sections provide different types of information associated with a transaction account.

         10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the server computing device comprises a server of a transaction account issuer.

         11 . A system comprising:
 a processor of a server computing device; and non-transitory memory of the server computing device having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by the processor, causes the processor to perform:
 store components of a webpage having at least a first section and a second section in a database, wherein the components of the webpage include for the first section of the webpage, at least a first version of content for the first section and a second version of content for the first section, wherein the components of the webpage further include for the second section of the webpage, at least a first version of content for the second section and a second version of content for the second section, wherein the components of the webpage further include an interdependency tag associated with the first section and the second section that indicates that a version of the second section to be selected for the webpage depends on the version of the first section selected for the webpage;
 receive a request to access a webpage from a client computing device, wherein the request includes an IP address of the client computing device;
 identify a user of the client computing device;
 configure a version of the webpage for the user by at least:
 selecting a version of the first section of the webpage based on the identified user from among at least the first version of the first section and the second version of the first section;
 verifying that the version of the second section to be selected for the webpage depends on the version of the first section selected for the webpage by checking the interdependency tag associated with the first section and the second section of the webp age; and,
 selecting the version of the second section of the webpage from among at least the first version of the second section and the second section of the second section based on the interdependency tag associated with the first section and the second section of the webpage; and

 transmit the configured webpage to the client computing device of the user.

         12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the user of the client computing device is identified based upon an IP address of the client computing device that is included in the request to access the webpage.

         13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to monitor the client computing device to obtain effectiveness data associated with the configured webpage.
