Integration of multiple electronic records

Abstract

A flight reservation can be made on behalf of a traveller based on determining that there is no initial profile stored for the traveller or the profile is incomplete, loading a ghost profile comprising information associated with a customer on whose behalf the traveller will be traveling, and storing in a travel record the information associated with the customer. Information drawn from the ghost profile can be used to populate fields in a Passenger Name Record and a booking made.

1 . A system for utilizing an employer ghost profile records template of an employer of a business traveler to populate information in a Passenger Name Record for the purpose of generating a flight booking on behalf of the business traveler in accord with the employer's travel rules, where the system has determined there is no profile record stored for the business traveler, the system comprising at least one hardware processor and a memory storing computer program instructions which when executed by the at least one hardware processor cause the at least one hardware processor to perform operations comprising:
 determining that there is no profile record associated with the business traveler, resulting in the system storing that the business traveler has a non-profiled status;   searching for the employer ghost profile associated with the employer, the employer ghost profile corresponding to a records template into which information can be populated, the information stored in at least one field, the employer ghost profile unassociated with an actual individual traveler;   instantiating a data structure corresponding to data associated with the employer ghost profile associated with the employer; and   copying into a Passenger Name Record, upon determining that the instantiated data structure has at least one field common to a field in the Passenger Name Record, data from the instantiated data structure and, at a time subsequent to copying data from the instantiated data structure into the Passenger Name Record, overwriting fields in the Passenger Name Record with the business traveler's first name and last name.   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the business traveler is an employee of the employer. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the business traveler is not an employee of the employer. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the ghost profile contains information relating to a cost centre or division of the employer. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the ghost profile contains any of: an address of the employer, a contact number at the employer, a form of payment for the booking, contact details of an individual or group of individuals making the booking, an identity of a group servicing the employer, invoicing information, information relating to a department, division, or cost center of the employer, fees to be applied to a transaction related to the booking, and information about online booking functionality used to automate ticketing for the booking. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the booking is made by a travel management company on behalf of the employer. 
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the booking is made by the employer. 
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 1 , where a plurality of bookings are processed by use of the ghost profile. 
     
     
         9 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising making a booking. 
     
     
         10 . A system for utilizing an employer ghost profile records template of an employer of a business traveler to populate information in a Passenger Name Record for the purpose of generating a flight booking on behalf of the business traveler in accord with the employer's travel rules, the system comprising at least one hardware processor and a memory storing computer program instructions which when executed by the at least one hardware processor cause the at least one hardware processor to perform operations comprising:
 determining that a traveler unique identifier cannot be found in an input file, resulting in the system storing that the business traveler has a non-profiled status;   searching for the employer ghost profile associated with the employer, the employer ghost profile corresponding to a records template into which information can be populated, the information stored in at least one field, the employer ghost profile unassociated with an actual individual traveler;   instantiating a data structure corresponding to data associated with the employer ghost profile associated with the employer; and   copying into a Passenger Name Record, upon determining that the instantiated data structure has at least one field common to a field in the Passenger Name Record, data from the instantiated data structure and, at a time subsequent to copying data from the instantiated data structure into the Passenger Name Record, overwriting fields in the Passenger Name Record with the business traveler's first name and last name.   
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein the input file comprises information from a plurality of non-profiled business travelers. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 10 , where a plurality of bookings are processed by use of the ghost profile. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 10 , further comprising making a flight booking. 
     
     
         14 . A system for utilizing an employer ghost profile records template of an employer of a business traveler to populate information in a Passenger Name Record for the purpose of generating a flight booking on behalf of the business traveler in accord with the employer's travel rules, the system comprising at least one hardware processor and a memory storing computer program instructions which when executed by the at least one hardware processor cause the at least one hardware processor to perform operations comprising:
 searching for the employer ghost profile associated with the employer, the employer ghost profile corresponding to a records template into which information can be populated, the information stored in at least one field, the employer ghost profile unassociated with an actual individual traveler;   instantiating a data structure corresponding to data associated with the employer ghost profile associated with the employer; and   copying into a Passenger Name Record, upon determining that the instantiated data structure has at least one field common to a field in the Passenger Name Record, data from the instantiated data structure and, at a time subsequent to copying data from the instantiated data structure into the Passenger Name Record, overwriting fields in the Passenger Name Record with the business traveler's first name and last name.   
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 14 , further comprising determining that there is no profile record associated with the business traveler, resulting in the system storing that the business traveler has a non-profiled status. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the booking is made by a travel management company on behalf of the employer. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the booking is made by the employer. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein a plurality of bookings are processed by use of the ghost profile. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 14 , further comprising making a booking. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the ghost profile can be enlarged by overlaying an added template or sub-template.
