Apparatus, method, and system to dynamically deploy wireless infrastructure
Abstract
CRYSTAL “Cognitive radio you share, trust and access locally” (CRYSTAL) is a virtualized cognitive access point that may provide for combining multiple wireless access applications on a single hardware platform. Radio technologies such as LTE (Long-Term Evolution), WiMax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access), GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), and the like can be supported. CRYSTAL platforms can be aggregated and managed as a cloud, which provides a model for access point sharing, control, and management. CRYSTAL may be used for scenarios such as neighborhood spectrum management. CRYSTAL security features allow for home/residential as well as private infrastructure implementations.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method comprising:
receiving a request associated with accessing a wireless resource, wherein the request indicates one or more requirements for the wireless resource; determining, based on the request, a network device associated with satisfying the one or more requirements for the wireless resource; and causing the network device to use a virtual machine to execute an application that facilitates a service via the wireless resource, wherein the network device is configured to share the wireless resource among a plurality of virtual machines.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the wireless resource comprises one or more of a networking hardware resource, a wireless radio, or a range of radio spectrum.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more requirements comprise a range of radio spectrum.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the service comprises a cellular communication service.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the network device is configured to multiplex signal streams from multiple virtual machines for shared access of the wireless resource among the plurality of virtual machines.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more requirements comprise a latency requirement.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more requirements comprises one or more of a location, a frequency, a bandwidth, an antenna direction, or an antenna power.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the service utilizes beam forming via the wireless resource.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the network device is one of plurality of network devices geographically distributed at a plurality of locations for implementing one or more wireless communication services.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the network device implements a plurality of different wireless services for a plurality of corresponding service providers.
11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein causing the network device to use the virtual machine to execute the application that facilitates the service via the wireless resource comprises causing the virtual machine to modify a coverage area of a cellular communication service.
12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of virtual machines are logically isolated from each other on the network device.
13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the network device is configured to provide, to the plurality of virtual machines for access, a virtualized interface for accessing the wireless resource.
14 . A system comprising:
a plurality of network devices geographically distributed at a plurality of locations; and a computing device configured to:
receive a request associated with accessing a wireless resource, wherein the request indicates one or more requirements for the wireless resource;
determine, based on the request, a network device, of the plurality of network devices, associated with satisfying the one or more requirements for the wireless resource; and
cause the network device to use a virtual machine to execute an application that facilitates a service via the wireless resource, wherein the network device is configured to share the wireless resource among a plurality of virtual machines.
15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the wireless resource comprises one or more of a networking hardware resource, a wireless radio, or a range of radio spectrum.
16 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the service utilizes beam forming via the wireless resource.
17 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the service comprises a cellular communication service.
18 . A device comprising:
one or more processors; and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the device to:
receive a request associated with accessing a wireless resource, wherein the request indicates one or more requirements for the wireless resource;
determine, based on the request, a network device associated with satisfying the one or more requirements for the wireless resource; and
cause the network device to use a virtual machine to execute an application that facilitates a service via the wireless resource, wherein the network device is configured to share the wireless resource among a plurality of virtual machines.
19 . The device of claim 18 , wherein the wireless resource comprises one or more of a networking hardware resource, a wireless radio, or a range of radio spectrum.
20 . The device of claim 18 , wherein the service utilizes beam forming via the wireless resource.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
