In some instances, the mixed allergen compositions include: a nut allergen; an animal allergen; and at least one of: a non-nut plant allergen; a biotic agent; and a vitamin. Also provided are methods of administering the mixed allergen compositions to a subject. The mixed allergen compositions find use in a variety of applications, including health maintenance, immune balance, gut balance, immune support, health improvement and therapeutic applications.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for ameliorating a food allergy in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising orally administering to the subject, for at least 6 months, a mixed allergen composition comprising about 0.1% to about 10% by weight of each of 10 individual allergenic foods selected from the group consisting of peanut, soy, milk, egg, cashew, pistachio, hazelnut, almond, pecan, walnut, salmon, cod, shrimp, wheat, oat, and sesame,
wherein the food allergy is an allergy to one or more of peanut, soy, milk, egg, cashew, pistachio, hazelnut, almond, pecan, walnut, salmon, cod, shrimp, wheat, oat, and/or sesame; and wherein ameliorating the food allergy thereby increases the tolerance of one or more of the individual allergenic foods by the subject.
. A method for ameliorating a food allergy in a subject, the method comprising orally administering to the subject a mixed allergen composition comprising:
about 0.1% to about 15% by weight walnut complete allergen; about 0.1% to about 15% by weight peanut complete allergen; about 0.1% to about 15% by weight hazelnut complete allergen; about 0.1% to about 15% by weight soy complete allergen; and about 0.1% to about 15% by weight white fish complete allergen and/or pink fish complete allergen; wherein the weight is per total mass of the mixed allergen composition.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the food allergy is ameliorated in the subject for at least three months, six months or one year or more.
. (canceled)
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the food allergy is a peanut allergy.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the food allergy is a fish allergy.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the food allergy is a tree nut allergy.
. (canceled)
. (canceled)
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject is at risk of developing a food allergy.
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the mixed allergen composition further comprises about 0.1% to about 15% by weight sesame complete allergen.
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the mixed allergen composition further comprises about 0.1% to about 15% by weight crustacean complete allergen.
. (canceled)
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the mixed allergen composition comprises about 0.1% to about 15% by weight white fish complete allergen and about 0.1% to about 15% by weight pink fish complete allergen.
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the mixed allergen composition further comprises about 0.1% to about 15% by weight egg white complete allergen.
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the mixed allergen composition further comprises about 0.1% to about 15% by weight wheat complete allergen.
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the mixed allergen composition further comprises about 0.1% to about 15% by weight almond complete allergen.
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the mixed allergen composition further comprises about 0.1% to about 15% by weight oat complete allergen.
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the mixed allergen composition further comprises about 0.1% to about 15% by weight pecan complete allergen and/or about 0.1% to about 15% by weight pistachio complete allergen.
. The method of claim 2 , wherein the mixed allergen composition further comprises about 0.1% to about 15% by weight cashew complete allergen.
. (canceled)
. The method of claim 1 , wherein upon administration the food allergy is significantly prevented in the subject as compared to administration of a single food protein allergen.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the mixed allergen composition comprises a flour/powder from each allergenic food.
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the mixed allergen composition is administered to the subject three times a day, two times a day, once daily, once every 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 days, or once every week.
. (canceled)
. The method of claim 1 , wherein the mixed allergen composition is administered to the subject for at least 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, or 24 months.
