Method and apparatus for processing a multicast broadcast data stream
Abstract
A multicast broadcast service controller is disclosed. The MBSC processes multicast broadcast data streams for transmission to access service network gateways or base stations. The MBSC includes a MBSC core processor for establishing time synchronization information used by the access service network gateways or base stations to synchronously transmit data streams. The MBSC core processor selects streams for transmission in a time diversity interval (TDI) and builds multicast broadcast (MBS) region content based on the selected streams and configuration information. The MBS region content includes timing synchronization information, resource information and MBS region content location information. A MBS region distribution module (MRD) transmits the MBS region content to the access service network gateways or base stations.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A wireless device operable in a wireless orthogonal frequency division multiple (OFDM) system using a fixed number of consecutive same sized first time intervals in each of a plurality of consecutive same sized second time intervals for communication, each first time interval having a same number of OFDM symbols, the wireless device comprising:
a transceiver; and a processor, wherein: the processor is operable to access configuration information, wherein the configuration information indicates first time intervals of one of the second time intervals for transmission of a type of service data, wherein the indicated first time intervals is not all of the first time intervals of the one second time interval, and the configuration information indicates OFDM symbols of the first time intervals for transmission of the type of service data, wherein the indicated OFDM symbols of each of the indicated set of first time intervals is not all of the OFDM symbols of each of the indicated set of first time intervals; the processor and the transceiver are operable to transmit control information and service data in the indicated OFDM symbols in one of the indicated first time intervals, the control information being transmitted in a plurality of OFDM symbols not being all of the OFDM symbols of the indicated OFDM symbols and the control information including scheduling information for the service data, the service data being transmitted in subchannels and OFDM symbols of the indicated OFDM symbols, the service data being transmitted in an adjacent subchannel in a same OFDM symbol as the control information and in at least an adjacent OFDM symbol in a same subchannel as the control information.
2 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the control information includes time resources for the service data.
3 . The wireless device of claim 2 , wherein the control information includes a cyclic redundancy check (CRC).
4 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the service data is broadcast to a plurality of mobile stations.
5 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the wireless device is a base station.
6 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the indicated first time intervals in one of the second time interval has at least one non-consecutive first time interval.
7 . A method for use in a wireless device operable in a wireless orthogonal frequency division multiple (OFDM) system using a fixed number of consecutive same sized first time intervals in each of a plurality of consecutive same sized second time intervals for communication, each first time interval having a same number of OFDM symbols, the method comprising:
receiving configuration information, the configuration information indicates first time intervals of one of the second time intervals for transmission of a type of service data, wherein the indicated first time intervals is not all of the first time intervals of the one second time interval, and the configuration information indicates OFDM symbols of the first time intervals for transmission of the type of service data, wherein the indicated OFDM symbols of each of the indicated set of first time intervals is not all of the OFDM symbols of each of the indicated set of first time intervals; transmitting control information and service data in the indicated OFDM symbols in one of the indicated first time intervals, the control information being transmitted in a plurality of OFDM symbols not being all of the OFDM symbols of the indicated OFDM symbols and the control information including scheduling information for the service data, the service data being transmitted in subchannels and OFDM symbols of the indicated OFDM symbols, the service data being transmitted in an adjacent subchannel in a same OFDM symbol as the control information and in at least an adjacent OFDM symbol in a same subchannel as the control information.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the control information includes time resources for the service data.
9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the control information includes a cyclic redundancy check (CRC).
10 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the service data is broadcast to a plurality of mobile stations.
11 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the wireless device is a base station.
12 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the indicated first time intervals in one of the second time interval has at least one non-consecutive first time interval.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
