Claims

Abstract

This invention relates to cellulosic fibers, containing incorporated indigo pigments in the oxidized form, wherein the fibers are made according to a modal process, show a tenacity (conditioned) of at least 29 cN/tex and a wet modulus according to BISFA of at least 5 cN/tex/%. Furthermore, the invention relates to the manufacture and the use of such fibers in fabrics.

A cellulosic fiber, comprising an indigo pigment in an oxidized form incorporated in the cellulosic fiber, wherein the cellulosic fiber is made according to a modal process, and wherein the cellulosic fiber has a conditioned tenacity of at least 29 cN/tex and a wet modulus of at least 5 cN/tex/% according to BISFA. 
     
     
         2 . The cellulosic fiber according to  claim 1 , wherein the indigo pigment is incorporated throughout an entire cross-section of the cellulosic fiber. 
     
     
         3 . A fabric with having a denim appearance comprising the cellulosic fiber according to  claim 1 . 
     
     
         4 . A textile fabric with denim appearance, comprising between 40 and 100% (w/w) of the cellulosic fiber according to  claim 1 . 
     
     
         5 . The textile fabric according to  claim 4 , wherein the textile fabric has a rub fastness of between 4.0 and 5.0 according to ISO 105-X12:2016. 
     
     
         6 . The textile fabric according to  claim 4 , wherein the textile fabric is a woven fabric. 
     
     
         7 . The textile fabric according to  claim 6 , wherein in a warp comprises between 80 and 100% (w/w) of the cellulosic fiber according to  claim 1 . 
     
     
         8 . The textile fabric according to  claim 6 , wherein the textile fabric has a shrinkage of lower than 5.0% according to ÖNORM ISO 3759 after washing according to ISO 6330. 
     
     
         9 . The textile fabric according to  claim 4 , wherein the textile fabric is a knit fabric. 
     
     
         10 . The textile fabric according to  claim 9 , wherein the textile fabric has a shrinkage of lower than 12.0% according to ÖNORM ISO 3759 after washing according to ISO 6330. 
     
     
         11 . A method for manufacturing a cellulosic fiber according to  claim 1 , comprising:
 a. preparing a Modal spinning solution;   b. preparing an indigo pigment in an oxidized form;   c. adding the indigo pigment to the Modal spinning solution to form a mixture; and   d. extruding the mixture into a coagulation bath according to a Modal spinning process.   
     
     
         12 . The textile fabric according to  claim 6 , wherein in the warp comprises between 95 and 100% (w/w) of the cellulosic fiber according to  claim 1 .
