Abstract

A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure may comprise a cover having an adhesive, a manifold, a perforated polymer film, and a perforated silicone gel having a treatment aperture. The cover, the manifold, the perforated polymer film, and the perforated silicone gel may be assembled in a stacked relationship with the cover and the perforated silicone gel enclosing the manifold. The perforated polymer film may be at least partially exposed through the treatment aperture, and at least some of the adhesive may be exposed through the perforated silicone around the treatment aperture.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure, the dressing comprising:
a first layer comprising a manifold; a second layer comprising a film and a plurality of fluid restrictions adjacent to the manifold; and a third layer comprising a coating adjacent to the second layer, wherein a treatment aperture and a plurality of perforations around the treatment aperture are disposed through the coating, and wherein at least a portion of the plurality of fluid restrictions are exposed through the treatment aperture.

2 . The dressing of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of perforations are smaller than the treatment aperture.

3 . The dressing of claim 1 , wherein the coating comprises a hydrophobic material.

4 . The dressing of claim 1 , wherein the coating comprises a gel.

5 . The dressing of claim 1 , wherein the coating comprises silicone.

6 . The dressing of claim 1 , wherein the perforations are circular and have a diameter in a range of about 7 millimeters to about 9 millimeters.

7 . The dressing of claim 1 , wherein the second layer comprises a film of polyurethane.

8 . The dressing of claim 1 , wherein the fluid restrictions comprise slits in the film.

9 . The dressing of claim 8 , wherein the slits each have a length in a range of about 2 millimeters to about 5 millimeters.

10 . The dressing of claim 8 , wherein the slits each have a length of about 3 millimeters.

11 . The dressing of claim 1 , wherein the treatment aperture has a width in a range of about 90 millimeters to about 110 millimeters and a length in a range of about 150 millimeters to about 160 millimeters.

12 . The dressing of claim 1 , further comprising a cover configured to be disposed over the manifold, wherein the cover, the manifold, the film, and the coating are assembled in a stacked relationship with the coating and the portion of the plurality of fluid restrictions exposed through the treatment aperture being configured to face the tissue site.

13 . The dressing of claim 12 , wherein the cover comprises a non-porous film and an adhesive, the non-porous film coupled around the manifold and the adhesive disposed adjacent to the plurality of perforations such that at least some of the adhesive is exposed through the perforations around the treatment aperture.

14 . The dressing of claim 1 , wherein the fluid restrictions are configured to move from a normally restricted position to an open position in response to a pressure gradient.

15 . A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure, the dressing comprising:
a foam manifold configured to fluidly communicate negative pressure and wound fluid; a lower surface having an open area configured as a passage for the negative pressure and the wound fluid; a drape area surrounding the open area, the drape area configured to seal to tissue and not including openings for the passage of the negative pressure or the wound fluid; and a polymer film wound contact layer extending across the open area in the lower surface and having openings for the passage of the negative pressure and the wound fluid into the foam manifold.

16 . The dressing of claim 15 , wherein the dressing further comprises a cover comprising a drape disposed over the manifold and coupled to the drape area around the manifold.

17 . A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure, the dressing comprising:
a sealing layer comprising a treatment aperture and a plurality of perforations around the treatment aperture; a fluid control layer comprising a plurality of fluid restrictions aligned with the treatment aperture; and a manifold adjacent to the fluid restrictions.

18 . The dressing of claim 17 , wherein the plurality of perforations are smaller than the treatment aperture.

19 . The dressing of claim 17 , further comprising a cover comprising a film configured to be disposed over the manifold and coupled to the sealing layer around the manifold, wherein the cover, the manifold, the fluid control layer, and the sealing layer are assembled in a stacked relationship with the sealing layer and the plurality of fluid restrictions aligned with the treatment aperture being configured to face the tissue site.

20 . The dressing of claim 19 , wherein the cover comprises a non-porous film and an adhesive, the non-porous film coupled around the manifold and the adhesive disposed adjacent to the plurality of perforations such that at least some of the adhesive is exposed through the perforations around the treatment aperture.
