Methods and systems to manage data objects in a cloud computing environment
Abstract
The present disclosure relates to managing activity taken with respect to cloud-based software services. A platform manages data objects processed by software services and/or those entities that initiate processing events. The platform uses identifiers such as, for example, a persistent identifier (PID) to track processing events. The platform implements rules and/or permissions related to the managed data objects and/or managed entities to determine whettler processing events are in compliance. The platform may update database records, send alerts, send data graphs, or provide a real-time stream related to the managed data objects and/or managed entities. In addition, embodiments involve determining whether a PID-associated managed data object has been modified during processing to generate an additional version of the PID-associated managed data object and, if an object version is present, processing the additional version of the PID-associated managed data object to generate an integrated first PID-associated managed data object.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of managing Saas applications operational in a cloud computing environment comprising: a. providing, by a computing system, a cloud computing environment operational with each of: i. a plurality of Saas applications each having a Saas application type; and ii. a plurality of managed entities each having an entity identification and one or more entity types; b. defining, by the computing system or an administrator, one or more rules for: i. processing operations associated with each of the plurality of SaaS applications; ii. processing operations associated with each of the plurality of managed entities; and iii. processing operations associated with one or more managed entity types; c. identifying, by the computing system, a first Saas application operational in the cloud computing environment, wherein the identification is in response to information received about processing of the first Saas application in the cloud computing environment, and wherein the processing is associated with one or more of the managed entities; d. determining, by the computing system, whether the first Saas application is, independently, associated with a persistent identifier (PID) and, if the first Saas application is not associated with a PID, assigning a PID to the first Saas application, thereby providing a PID-associated SaaS application; e. identifying, by the computing system each of: i. a Saas application type for the PID-associated Saas application; ii. a managed entity identification for each managed entity associated with the processing of the PID-associated Saas application; and iii. a managed entity type for each managed entity associated with the processing of the PID associated Saas application; f. determining, by the computing system, whether the processing of the PID-associated Saas application is out of compliance with one or more rules associated with the processing of Saas applications in the cloud computing environment, wherein the one or more rules are defined for each of: i. Saas application type; ii. identity of a managed entity associated with the processing of the PID-associated Saas application; and iii. managed entity type associated ,vith the processing of the PID-associated Saas application; and g. generating, by the computing system, information about whether the processing of the PID-associated Saas application is out of compliance with the one or more rules.
