Multi-Rotor Safety Shield
Abstract
The Multi-Rotor Safety Shield (MRSS) provides a complete and substantial encasement system which can be secured about a Drone, protecting a multitude of aircraft components from contact with any outside disturbance and which can protect the sensitive components from dust, water, wind, rain, snow, fingers, toes, appendages of any kind, and atmospheric changes as example, from disabling the Drone and can protect people, places or things from high velocity spinning exposed rotor/propellers. The MRSS provides rigid non-permeable platform for attaching or incorporating additional safety devices as found in the Drone industry (or other industries) resulting in a safety device that completely prevents the loss a Drone due to the catastrophic failure of any Drone system or combination of systems which would typically result in rapid decent, and/or uncontrolled flight. The MRSS makes Drones safe near humans and safe to use around public gatherings, stadium events, accident scenes, disaster search and rescue and disaster relief, and indoors for the security and communications markets among others expanding the availability of Drones to further assist humanity.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A safety encasement system for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), said encasement system comprising:
a top housing platform and a bottom housing platform, wherein the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform comprise one or more airshafts for housing rotors of the UAV; and one or more landing gears that are evenly distributed on the bottom housing platform; wherein the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform can be secured to a frame of the UAV, and wherein one or more exterior openings of the one or more air shafts are covered by a screen, an air-permeable membrane, or a grill to shield propellers of the UAV from outside disturbance; wherein the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform are configured to accommodate one or more removable middle modular sections.
2 . The safety encasement system of claim 1 , further comprising one or more accessory bays, wherein the one or more accessory bays are configured to store one or more accessories or payloads to be carried by the UAV for delivery and wherein the one or more accessory bays are positioned on the safety encasement system to facilitate easy deployment of the accessories or payloads.
3 . The safety encasement system of claim 1 , wherein the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform are configured to be secured to the UAV using a plurality of clamps, snaps, clasps, screws, glue, tape or tie wraps.
4 . The safety encasement system of claim 1 , wherein the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform further comprise indentations for receiving a middle modular section to be inserted in between the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform.
5 . The safety encasement system of claim 4 , wherein the indentations are grooved, cut, slatted, or machined.
6 . The safety encasement system of claim 4 , wherein sealant is used to seal the connections where the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform meet the middle modular section.
7 . The safety encasement system of claim 6 , wherein the sealant is seated in the indentations and is one of flexible plastic, rubber, and silicone gaskets.
8 . The safety encasement system of claim 4 , wherein one or more mountable devices are attached to the top housing platform, the middle modular section, or the bottom housing platform.
9 . The safety encasement system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more mountable devices include light, camera, microphone, sensors, tracking devices, video screens, communication devices, or data recording devices.
10 . The safety encasement system of claim 1 , wherein the safety encasement system is made of water resistant material.
11 . The safety encasement system of claim 1 , wherein the safety encasement system is made of air or water permeable material.
12 . The safety encasement system of claim 1 , wherein the safety encasement system is made of rigid material.
13 . The safety encasement system of claim 1 , wherein the safety encasement system is made of deformable material.
14 . The safety encasement system of claim 1 , further comprising a deployable device that can be deployed during emergency.
15 . The safety encasement system of claim 14 , wherein the deployable device is a parachute, a landing gear, or an inflatable device.
16 . The safety encasement system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more middle sections are disposed in between the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform.
17 . An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) comprising a safety encasement system, said safety encasement system comprising:
a top housing platform and a bottom housing platform, wherein the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform comprise one or more compartments for housing one or more rotors of the UAV; one or more landing gears that are located on the bottom housing platform; wherein the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform are configured to accommodate one or more middle modular sections, and are secured to the frame of the UAV, and wherein one or more exterior openings of the one or more compartments are covered.
18 . The UAV of claim 17 , wherein the one or more exterior openings of the one or more compartments are covered by a screen, an air-permeable membrane, or a grill.
19 . An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) comprising a safety encasement system, said safety encasement system comprising:
one or more compartments for housing one or more rotors of the UAV; one or more accessory bays; an inflatable device stored in the one or more accessory bays; and one or more landing gears; wherein the one or more compartments comprise one or more exterior openings and wherein at least one exterior opening is covered by a screen, an air-permeable membrane, or a grill to shield propellers of the UAV from outside disturbance. wherein the one or more accessory bays are configured to store one or more accessories or payloads to be carried by the UAV for delivery and to facilitate easy deployment of the accessories or payloads.
20 . The UAV of claim 19 , wherein said safe encasement system further comprises:
a top housing platform and a bottom housing platform; wherein the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform are secured to the UAV via mechanical or chemical means, and wherein the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform comprise indentations for receiving a middle modular section that can be inserted in between the top housing platform and the bottom housing platform.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
