Abstract

A system and method for treating a surface of a user’s body part, including: obtaining target surface condition information from a user’s body part surface using one or more condition sensors taken from a group consisting of: an optical sensor and a bio-sensor; classifying the target surface condition information using a machine learning classifier to determine an initial target surface condition classification; obtaining treatment progress information using a combination of motion sensor data and surface condition information from the one or more condition sensors; and classifying the treatment progress information using a machine learning classifier to determine a progress classification for treating the initial target surface condition classification.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A method for treating a surface of a user’s body part, comprising:
 obtaining target surface condition information from a user’s body part surface using a bio-sensor that is not a camera;
 classifying the target surface condition information using a machine learning classifier to determine an initial target surface condition classification;
 obtaining treatment progress information using a combination of motion sensor data and surface condition information from the bio-sensor, displaying a real time representation of the treatment progress information, and modifying setting of a treatment system based upon, at least in part, the treatment progress information; and
 classifying the treatment progress information using a machine learning classifier to determine a progress classification for treating the initial target surface condition classification.

         2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the bio-sensor is provided on at least one of an examination instrument or a grooming appliance.

         3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the modifying step occurs substantially in real time while the treatment system is treating the user’s body part surface.

         4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the bio-sensor is provided a treatment instrument of the treatment system.

         5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the treatment instrument is an oral care instrument.

         6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising modifying settings of a treatment system based upon the target surface condition classification.

         7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising evaluating change of the user’s body part surface condition over time based upon successive target surface condition classifications.

         8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the progress classification indicates that the initial target surface condition classification is incorrect.

         9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising generating an initial treatment plan based upon the initial treatment classification and modifying the initial treatment plan upon determining that the initial target surface condition classification is incorrect.
