Cannabis extraction system and method
Abstract
The system and method of the present invention provides an automated washing and extraction system and method to removed trichomes from cannabis product to create hash resin. Inconsistency is removed from the hash extraction process by automating the washing and extraction cycles thereof. The system and method records the data and tracks all user functions. Manual labor is removed or significantly reduced and time to create the final product is greatly lessened. Thus, more hash can be produced in a shorter amount of time. Moreover, the present invention allows the end user a controlled and accurate and efficient way of producing large quantities of solvent-free hash in a short amount of time while doing so in a consistent, repeatable and cost-effective manner.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method of extracting trichomes from cannabis , comprising the steps of:
loading frozen cannabis flower product into a removable mesh basket having an agitation paddles connected thereto; placing the mesh basket into an extraction vessel having an input port and output port; filling the extraction vessel, with the mesh basket and cannabis flow product therein, with chilled water from a water tank via the input port; controlling the filling of the extraction vessel by a computerized controller; soaking the frozen cannabis flower product while spinning and alternating a direction of the mesh basket and agitating paddles for a first predetermined period of time and speed; controlling the agitating paddles by the computerized controller during the step of soaking; washing the frozen cannabis flower product while spinning and alternating a direction of the mesh basket and mesh basket for a second predetermined period of time and speed thereby releasing trichomes from the frozen cannabis flower product into the chilled water; controlling the mesh basket by the computerized controller during the step of washing; draining the chilled water and released trichomes therein into filter media in a separation/collection tank via the output port of the extraction vessel; filtering trichomes from the drained water for collection; removing the filter media from the separation/collection tank; and retrieving filtered and collected trichomes from the filter media.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the filter media is an array of bags, screens or mesh baskets of varying pore size.
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the steps of:
providing a pump fluidly connected to the water tank; recirculating chilled water back into the main extraction vessel; and wherein a computerized controller is electronically connected to the pump and water tank to controllably deliver cold water to the main extraction tank.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of:
cleaning the filter media with chilled water from the water tank.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the steps of:
introducing chilled water in a space defined by a double inner wall of the extraction vessel; delivering glycol into a space defined by a double exterior wall of the extraction vessel; the double inner wall residing within the double exterior wall; and providing an insulation jacket about the double exterior wall.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
