Abstract
There may be one or more systems, methods, and/or devices that address a relay wireless communication scenario. For example, in such a scenario, there may be at least three entities, a remote a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may need to communicate with a network node (e.g., gNB) and/or another WTRU that it cannot directly communicate with. This remote WTRU may communicate with a relay WTRU in order to communicate with the ultimate destination (e.g., another WTRU or a network node). The use of a relay may require establishment and configuration of one or more entities involved.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed:
1 . A method implemented by a relay wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:
receiving a transmission using a sidelink radio link channel (SL-RLC) from a remote WTRU, wherein the transmission is received after a PC5-radio resource control (RRC) connection has been established with the remote WTRU; and transmitting a connection message to a base station upon receiving the transmission, wherein the connection message comprises a request for establishing a connection between the relay WTRU and the base station.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising sending at least part of the transmission to the base station after receiving the response message.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the relay WTRU is in an IDLE or an INACTIVE state when the transmission is received.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the connection message comprises a request to establish a new connection or to resume a previous connection with the base station.
5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising receiving a response message from the base station indicating that the new connection is established or that the request to resume the connection was successful.
6 . A relay wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU), the WTRU comprising:
a processor operatively connected to a transceiver, wherein the processor and transceiver are configured to receive a transmission using a sidelink radio link channel from a remote WTRU, wherein the transmission is received after a PC5-radio resource control (RRC) connection has been established with the remote WTRU; and the processor and transceiver are configured to transmit a connection message to a base station upon receiving the transmission, wherein the relay-connection message comprises a request for establishing a connection between the relay WTRU and the base station.
7 . The WTRU of claim 6 , wherein the processor and transceiver are configured to send at least part of the transmission to the base station after receiving the response message.
8 . The WTRU of claim 6 , wherein the relay WTRU is in an IDLE or an INACTIVE state when the transmission is received.
9 . The WTRU of claim 6 , wherein the connection message comprises a request to establish a new connection or to resume a previous connection with the base station.
10 . The WTRU of claim 9 , further comprising means for receiving a response message from the base station indicating that the new connection is established or that the request to resume the connection was successful.
11 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving a message from the network that includes configuration information related to how the remote WTRU, the relay WTRU, and the network are linked.
12 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving configuration information for using the SL-RLC.
13 . The WTRU of claim 6 , wherein the processor and transceiver are configured to receive a message from the network that includes configuration information related to how the remote WTRU, the relay WTRU, and the network are linked.
14 . The WTRU of claim 6 , wherein the processor and transceiver are configured to receive configuration information for using the SL-RLC.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
