Abstract
There is disclosed an apparatus, a system and a method for treating asexual dysfunctional female patient. The apparatus comprises at least one expandable prosthesis adapted for implantation in female erectile tissue and adapted to be adjusted to temporarily achieve enlarged status of the female erectile tissue.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 86 . (canceled)
87 . A female implant apparatus for treating a sexual dysfunctional female patient, comprising
at least one expandable prosthesis adapted for implantation in female erectile tissue being at least one of; vestibular bulbs or corpora cavernosa of clitoris normally being filled with blood before or during sexual intercourse, and a sensor arrangement configured to sense at least one of a temperature of the female patient and a temperature of the implant apparatus, wherein the expandable prosthesis is adapted to fit at least one of; the vestibular bulbs or the corpora cavernosa of clitoris and adapted to be non-invasively adjusted to temporarily achieve enlarged status of female erectile tissue, the at least one expandable prosthesis comprising a vestibular bulb expanding surface or a corpora cavernosa of clitoris expanding surface.
88 . The apparatus according to claim 87 , comprising at least one implantable operation device for operating the prosthesis.
89 . The apparatus according to claim 88 , where the operation device comprises an implantable reservoir defining a chamber containing hydraulic fluid, and a conduit providing a fluid connection between the chamber and the at least one expandable prosthesis so that the prosthesis is hydraulically operated, the operation device operating the hydraulic fluid by distributing hydraulic fluid through the conduit between the chamber of the reservoir and the prosthesis.
90 . The apparatus according to claim 89 , wherein the conduit permits free flow of hydraulic fluid in both directions in the conduit, and the operation device comprises first and second wall portions of the reservoir and is adapted to provide relative displacement between the first and second wall portions of the reservoir, in order to change the volume of the chamber to distribute hydraulic fluid between the chamber and said hydraulically operated prosthesis.
91 . The apparatus according to claim 89 , wherein the operation device is adapted to enlarge the female erectile tissue upon expansion of the expandable prosthesis and released upon emptying of the expandable prosthesis, and the operation device is adapted to distribute hydraulic fluid from the chamber of the reservoir to expand the expandable prosthesis, and to distribute hydraulic fluid from the expandable prosthesis to the chamber of the reservoir to empty the expandable prosthesis.
92 . The apparatus according to claim 90 , wherein the operation device is adapted to provide said relative displacement in response to the pressure in the reservoir.
93 . The apparatus according to claim 89 , wherein the operation device comprises a pressure controlled hydraulic operation device.
94 . The apparatus according to claim 89 , further comprising an alarm adapted to generate an alarm signal in response to the lapse of a predetermined time period during which the pressure controlling the hydraulic operation device exceeds a predetermined high value.
95 . The apparatus according to claim 90 , wherein the first and second wall portions of the reservoir are displaceable relative to each other by at least one device selected from the group consisting of a magnetic device, an electromagnetic device, a hydraulic device, and an electric device.
96 . The apparatus according to claim 88 , wherein the operation device comprises a motor and at least one of; a servo to reduce the amount of force needed by the operation device and at least one gearing.
97 . The apparatus according to claim 88 , wherein the operation device is manually operated.
98 . The apparatus according to claim 96 , wherein the motor is reversible.
99 . The apparatus according to claim 89 , wherein the operation device comprises a pump adapted to pump fluid between the reservoir and the cavity of the prosthesis.
100 . The apparatus according to claim 89 , further comprising an injection port, subcutaneously implantable in the patient and in fluid communication with the chamber.
101 . The apparatus according to claim 89 , wherein said injection port is integrated in the reservoir.
102 . The apparatus according to claim 101 , wherein the at least one stimulating device is adapted to create movement with at least one of an frequency from 0.1 to 10 000 Hz and at least one of an amplitude from 0.01 to 30 mm.
103 . The apparatus according to claim 87 , adapted to be part of a system for manually and non-invasively controlling the apparatus, comprising at least one of; at least one switch implantable in the patient, a wireless remote control, and an implantable hydraulic reservoir hydraulically connected to the apparatus adapted to be regulated by manually pressing the hydraulic reservoir.
104 . The apparatus according to claim 87 , adapted to be part of a system, comprising an internal energy receiver, adapted to be energised non-invasively and wirelessly by an energy transmission device from outside the patients body, adapted to send wireless energy to at least one of:
an implantable internal energy source comprised in the system, chargeable by the energy transferred from the energy transmission device, and at least one implantable energy consuming component of the apparatus, with wireless energy.
105 . The apparatus according to claim 87 , further comprising an implantable feedback device for sending feedback information to at least one of;
an implantable internal control unit and an external control unit outside of the female patient's body, the feedback information pertaining to data provided by the sensor.
106 . The apparatus according to claim 87 , further comprising at least one implantable stimulation device adapted to stimulate at least a part of the sexually responsive tissue, wherein the at least one stimulating device is a vibrator and placed at said expandable prosthesis.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
