Structured data in a business networking feed
Abstract
Disclosed are database systems, methods, systems, and computer program products for providing tabular data in a social network feed. In some implementations, a server of a database system stores, in a database, social network feed data comprising a plurality of feed items as data objects. The server also stores, in a database, tabular data as data objects. The server shares the social network feed data and the tabular data in a social network feed displayable to present the feed items and the tabular data in a user interface, the tabular data being presentable in the user interface in a tabular format. The user interface may receive shareable user commentary regarding the tabular data. The stored tabular data may be editable by users of the database system. The social network feed may be updated to comprise notifications of edits to the tabular data.

21 . A content and experience system for cloud-based content collaboration, the system comprising:
a database system implemented using a server system, the database system configurable to cause: processing a user request to collaborate with a group of users, the request associated with one or more of: adding, viewing, or sharing one or more files having content; providing a cloud interface to securely access the content, the cloud interface allowing the group of users to collaborate; generating, using a database, the group of users with which to share the content, wherein the generating includes:
determining one or more roles for the users of the group, wherein a role provides designated access to the content,
determining, for a role, one or more permissions controlling one or more of: viewing the content, modifying the content, or uploading a new version of the content, and
adding the group to a file, a record, or a communication associated with the content;
identifying a layout associated with the content, the layout determining how and what content appears on a display; and sharing the content with the group of users.
22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein generating the group of users includes one or more of:
sending a link to the content, adding a user to the content, or adding the group of users as members associated with the content.
23 . They system of claim 21 , wherein available roles include: a viewer permitted to view content but neither edit content nor download content, a contributor permitted to view, download, and edit content, and a manager having full control of content.
24 . The system of claim 21 , the database system further configurable to cause:
processing a user request to create a conversation to discuss a specific object associated with the content.
25 . The system of claim 21 , the database system further configurable to cause:
processing a user request to create a stand-alone conversation to discuss a topic.
26 . The system of claim 21 , the database system further configurable to cause:
processing a user request associated with a conversation to perform one or more of: adding to a comment, replying to a comment, liking a comment, adding an attachment, making an annotation, or adding a flag.
27 . The system of claim 21 , the database system further configurable to cause:
determining a content type for the content, the content type providing a framework to specify what information is included in a content item.
28 . A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-readable program code to be executed by one or more processors when retrieved from the non-transitory computer-readable medium, the program code comprising instructions configurable to cause:
processing a user request to collaborate with a group of users, the request associated with one or more of: adding, viewing, or sharing one or more files having content; providing a cloud interface to securely access the content, the cloud interface allowing the group of users to collaborate; generating, using a database, the group of users with which to share the content, wherein the generating includes:
determining one or more roles for the users of the group, wherein a role provides designated access to the content,
determining, for a role, one or more permissions controlling one or more of: viewing the content, modifying the content, or uploading a new version of the content, and
adding the group to a file, a record, or a communication associated with the content;
identifying a layout associated with the content, the layout determining how and what content appears on a display; and sharing the content with the group of users.
29 . The computer program product of claim 28 , wherein generating the group of users includes one or more of:
sending a link to the content, adding a user to the content, or adding the group of users as members associated with the content.
30 . They computer program product of claim 28 , wherein available roles include: a viewer permitted to view content but neither edit content nor download content, a contributor permitted to view, download, and edit content, and a manager having full control of content.
31 . The computer program product of claim 28 , the instructions further configurable to cause:
processing a user request to create a conversation to discuss a specific object associated with the content.
32 . The computer program product of claim 28 , the instructions further configurable to cause:
processing a user request to create a stand-alone conversation to discuss a topic.
33 . The computer program product of claim 28 , the instructions further configurable to cause:
processing a user request associated with a conversation to perform one or more of: adding to a comment, replying to a comment, liking a comment, adding an attachment, making an annotation, or adding a flag.
34 . The computer program product of claim 28 , the instructions further configurable to cause:
determining a content type for the content, the content type providing a framework to specify what information is included in a content item.
35 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
processing a user request to collaborate with a group of users, the request associated with one or more of: adding, viewing, or sharing one or more files having content; providing a cloud interface to securely access the content, the cloud interface allowing the group of users to collaborate; generating, using a database, the group of users with which to share the content, wherein the generating includes:
determining one or more roles for the users of the group, wherein a role provides designated access to the content,
determining, for a role, one or more permissions controlling one or more of: viewing the content, modifying the content, or uploading a new version of the content, and
adding the group to a file, a record, or a communication associated with the content;
identifying a layout associated with the content, the layout determining how and what content appears on a display; and sharing the content with the group of users.
36 . The computer-implemented method of claim 35 , wherein generating the group of users includes one or more of:
sending a link to the content, adding a user to the content, or adding the group of users as members associated with the content.
37 . They computer-implemented method of claim 35 , wherein available roles include: a viewer permitted to view content but neither edit content nor download content, a contributor permitted to view, download, and edit content, and a manager having full control of content.
38 . The computer-implemented method of claim 35 , further comprising:
processing a user request to create a conversation to discuss a specific object associated with the content.
39 . The computer-implemented method of claim 35 , further comprising:
processing a user request to create a stand-alone conversation to discuss a topic.
