Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a ferrule-less fiber optic connector including a connector body having a front end. The ferrule-less fiber optic connector can include a plurality of optical fibers that extend through the connector body. The optical fibers can have having free end portions at the front end of the connector body that are not supported by a ferrule or by ferrules. In one example, the ferrule-less fiber optic connector can be a duplex fiber optic connector. Transceiver modules and components are also disclosed.

         2 . A duplex fiber optic connector comprising:
 a connector body including a front end;   only two optical fibers having end faces accessible at the front end of the connector body, the optical fiber end faces having a center-to-center spacing less than 1.25 millimeters.   
     
     
         3 . The duplex fiber optic connector of  claim 2 , wherein the optical fiber end faces having a center-to-center spacing less than or equal to 1.0 millimeters. 
     
     
         4 . The duplex fiber optic connector of  claim 2 , wherein the optical fibers include free end portions at the front end of the connector body that are not supported by a ferrule or by ferrules.
