Claims

Abstract

Systems and methods for connecting devices via a virtual global network across network fabrics using a network tapestry are disclosed. The network system comprises a first access point server in communication with a first backbone exchange server, a second access point server in communication with a second backbone exchange server, and a network tapestry comprising a first communication path connecting the first and second access point servers and a second communication path connecting the first and second backbone exchange servers.

1 . A method for connecting devices via a network comprising:
 establishing, by one or more processors, a first tunnel to communicate with a first end point device, wherein the first tunnel uses a first communication protocol;   establishing, by the one or more processors, a second tunnel to communicate with a second end point device, wherein the second tunnel uses a second communication protocol; and   relaying, by the one or more processors, traffic between the first end point device and the second end point device by establishing a third tunnel between the first end point device and the second end point device, wherein the third tunnel is established over the top of the first tunnel and the second tunnel by using a third communication protocol.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the first communication protocol uses at least one of TCP/IP, UDP/IP, IPv4 and IPv6. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the second communication protocol uses at least one of Infiniband and Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) over Infiniband. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the first communication protocol uses a store and forward model. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the second communication protocol uses cut through switching. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the third communication protocol is a wrapper protocol which allows packages complying with communication protocols other than the third communication protocol to transmit under the third communication protocol. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the wrapper protocol is one of IP over InfiniBand (IPoIB) and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE). 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first tunnel, the second tunnel, and the third tunnel is encrypted. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein two of the first communication protocol, the second communication protocol and the third communication protocol are the same, and the remaining communication protocol is different. 
     
     
         10 . A system comprising:
 a non-transitory memory; and   one or more hardware processors configured to read instructions from the non-transitory memory that, when executed, cause the one or more hardware processors to perform operations comprising:
 establishing a first tunnel to communicate with a first end point device, wherein the first tunnel uses a first communication protocol; 
 establishing a second tunnel to communicate with a second end point device, wherein the second tunnel uses a second communication protocol; and 
 relaying traffic between the first end point device and the second end point device by establishing a third tunnel between the first end point device and the second end point device, wherein the third tunnel is established over the top of the first tunnel and the second tunnel by using a third communication protocol. 
   
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein the first communication protocol uses at least one of TCP/IP, UDP/IP, IPv4 and IPv6. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the second communication protocol uses at least one of Infiniband and Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) over Infiniband. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein the third communication protocol is a wrapper protocol which allows packages complying with communication protocols other than the third communication protocol to transmit under the third communication protocol. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein the wrapper protocol is one of IP over InfiniBand (IPoIB) and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE). 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein two of the first communication protocol, the second communication protocol and the third communication protocol are the same, and the remaining communication protocol is different. 
     
     
         16 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more hardware processors, cause the one or more hardware processors to perform operations comprising:
 establishing a first tunnel to communicate with a first end point device, wherein the first tunnel uses a first communication protocol;   establishing a second tunnel to communicate with a second end point device, wherein the second tunnel uses a second communication protocol; and   relaying traffic between the first end point device and the second end point device by establishing a third tunnel between the first end point device and the second end point device, wherein the third tunnel is established over the top of the first tunnel and the second tunnel by using a third communication protocol.   
     
     
         17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 16 , wherein the first communication protocol uses at least one of TCP/IP, UDP/IP, IPv4 and IPv6. 
     
     
         18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 17 , wherein the second communication protocol uses at least one of Infiniband and Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) over Infiniband. 
     
     
         19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 16 , wherein the third communication protocol is a wrapper protocol which allows packages complying with communication protocols other than the third communication protocol to transmit under the third communication protocol. 
     
     
         20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 16 , wherein two of the first communication protocol, the second communication protocol and the third communication protocol are the same, and the remaining communication protocol is different.
