Customer transaction system
Abstract
A method for performing a transaction via a customer device includes generating a list of candidate transaction parties corresponding to a current location of the customer device. The method also includes transmitting, to an account computer system, a first message indicating a transaction party from the list of candidate transaction parties as a counterparty to the transaction with a customer associated with the customer device in response to the customer selecting the transaction party. The method further includes transmitting, to a device associated with the transaction party, account identification information of an account associated with the customer. The method also includes receiving, from the account computer system, a request for the customer to approve the transaction. The method further includes transmitting, to the account computer system, a second message indicating approval of the transaction based on receiving the second message
Claims

1 . An apparatus for performing a transaction via a customer device, comprising:
a memory device; and a processor coupled to the memory device, the processor executing program code stored in a non-transitory computer readable medium, the executed program code configuring the processor:
to identify a current location of the customer device based on geolocation information obtained from a positioning system of the customer device;
to generate a list of candidate transaction parties corresponding to the current location of the customer device;
to transmit, to an account computer system, a first message indicating a transaction party from the list of candidate transaction parties as a counterparty to the transaction with a customer associated with the customer device in response to the customer selecting the transaction party from the list of candidate transaction parties displayed at the customer device;
to transmit, to a device associated with the transaction party, account identification information of an account associated with the customer to facilitate the transaction;
to receive, from the account computer system, a request for the customer to approve the transaction based on transmitting the account identification information to the device; and
to transmit, to the account computer system, a second message indicating approval of the transaction based on receiving the request, the transaction being approved by the account computer system based on transmitting the second message.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , in which the executed program code further causes the processor to monitor the geolocation of the customer device.
3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , in which the account identification information is transmitted to the device based on the customer physically arriving at a location associated with the transaction party.
4 . The apparatus of claim 1 , in which the customer device comprises one or more of a keyboard, keypad, monitor, display, terminal, computer, mobile phone, smartphone, tablet, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), smart watch, smart wearable devices, control panel, vehicle dash board, network interface, machinery interface, video interface, audio interface, electrical interface, electronic interface, magnetic interface, electromagnetic interface including electromagnetic wave interface, optical interface, light interface, acoustic interface, contactless interface, handheld device interface, portable device interface, wireless interface, wired interface, or other type of interface.
5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , in which the transaction party comprises a restaurant, fast food restaurant, food stand, food truck, bookstore, clothing store, grocery store, drug store, gift store, shoe store, bag store, furniture store, convenience store, electronic store, appliance store, equipment store, tool store, department store, gardening store, building material store, supermarket, bus stop, bus station, train stop, train station, taxi stand, car shop, boat shop, vehicle shop, hotel, apartment, financial institution, money services provider, school, theater, park, fair ground, entertainment center, hospital, medical center, dentist office, doctor office, beauty salon, barbershop, goods provider, service provider, organization, club, association, company, office, business, kiosk, machine, or any type of facility that interfaces with customers.
6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , in which the executed program code further causes the processor to receive driving directions to a location associated with the transaction party based on transmitting the first message.
7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , in which the account identification information is transmitted via an electronic signal, light signal, acoustic signal, magnetic signal, or an electro-magnetic signal.
8 . The apparatus of claim 1 , in which the transaction is conducted without a financial instrument.
9 . The apparatus of claim 1 , in which the executed program code further causes the processor:
to display, at a display unit of the customer device, the list of candidate transaction parties; and to display, at the display unit, the request to approve the transaction based on receiving the request.
10 . The apparatus of claim 1 , in which the request to approve the transaction includes a bill listing all items associated with the transaction and an amount owed to complete the transaction.
11 . A method for performing a transaction via a customer device, comprising:
identifying a current location of the customer device based on geolocation information obtained from a positioning system of the customer device; generating a list of candidate transaction parties corresponding to the current location of the customer device; transmitting, to an account computer system, a first message indicating a transaction party from the list of candidate transaction parties as a counterparty to the transaction with a customer associated with the customer device in response to the customer selecting the transaction party from the list of candidate transaction parties displayed at the customer device; transmitting, to a device associated with the transaction party, account identification information of an account associated with the customer to facilitate the transaction; receiving, from the account computer system, a request for the customer to approve the transaction based on transmitting the account identification information to the device; and transmitting, to the account computer system, a second message indicating approval of the transaction based on receiving the second message, the transaction being approved by the account computer system based on transmitting the second message.
12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising monitoring the geolocation of the customer device.
13 . The method of claim 11 , in which the account identification information is transmitted to the device based on the customer physically arriving at a location associated with the transaction party.
14 . The method of claim 11 , in which the customer device comprises one or more of a keyboard, keypad, monitor, display, terminal, computer, mobile phone, smartphone, tablet, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), smart watch, smart wearable devices, control panel, vehicle dash board, network interface, machinery interface, video interface, audio interface, electrical interface, electronic interface, magnetic interface, electromagnetic interface including electromagnetic wave interface, optical interface, light interface, acoustic interface, contactless interface, handheld device interface, portable device interface, wireless interface, wired interface, or other type of interface.
15 . The method of claim 11 , in which the transaction party comprises a restaurant, fast food restaurant, food stand, food truck, bookstore, clothing store, grocery store, drug store, gift store, shoe store, bag store, furniture store, convenience store, electronic store, appliance store, equipment store, tool store, department store, gardening store, building material store, supermarket, bus stop, bus station, train stop, train station, taxi stand, car shop, boat shop, vehicle shop, hotel, apartment, financial institution, money services provider, school, theater, park, fair ground, entertainment center, hospital, medical center, dentist office, doctor office, beauty salon, barbershop, goods provider, service provider, organization, club, association, company, office, business, kiosk, machine, or any type of facility that interfaces with customers.
