Abstract

The stability and reliability of broadband service connectivity improved by utilizing both wireline and wireless connections. For example, a residential gateway may continue to provide stable broadband connectivity to a service provider network (e.g., exceeding minimum quality of service thresholds) when subjected to a broadband fault (e.g., loss or degradation of data) by managing or utilizing both a wireline broadband connection and a wireless broadband connection.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . A method comprising:
 obtaining, by a traffic schedule manager, a performance of a wireline broadband connectivity, the wireline broadband connectivity being associated with a wireline broadband connection of a residential gateway located at a residential address, the performance of the wireline broadband connectivity being a partial loss of the wireline broadband connectivity;   determining, by the traffic schedule manager based on the performance of the wireline broadband connectivity, a priority between the wireline broadband connection and a wireless broadband connection of the residential gateway; and   providing broadband connectivity via the wireless broadband connection based on the priority, the wireless broadband connection being configured to only transfer data to one or more base stations determined to be in a vicinity of the residential address.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the priority is further based on quality of service parameters. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the priority is further based on a preference for the wireline broadband. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising identifying a broadband fault, wherein the priority is further based on a severity of the broadband fault. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , further comprising notifying an artificial intelligence (AI) advisor about the broadband fault. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 4 , further comprising diagnosing, by an artificial intelligence (AI) advisor, the broadband fault. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 4 , further comprising determining, by an artificial intelligence (AI) advisor, one or more solutions to the broadband fault. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 identifying a recurring broadband fault; and   issuing by an artificial intelligence (AI) advisor in response to identifying the recurring broadband fault, a service ticket to resolve the recurring broadband fault.   
     
     
         9 . A system comprising:
 a processor; and   a memory including instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the system to:
 obtain a performance of a wireline broadband connectivity, wherein the wireline broadband connectivity is associated with a wireline broadband connection of a residential gateway located at a residential address, and wherein the performance of the wireline broadband connectivity is a partial loss of the wireline broadband connectivity; and 
 provide broadband connectivity via a wireless broadband connection of the residential gateway based on a priority, wherein the priority is between the wireline broadband connection and the wireless broadband connection, wherein the priority is determined based on the performance of the wireline broadband connectivity, wherein the wireless broadband connection is configured to only transfer data to one or more base stations determined to be in a vicinity of the residential address, and wherein the priority is further based on quality of service parameters. 
   
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the priority is further based on a preference for the wireline broadband. 
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the instructions further cause the system to identify a broadband fault. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the priority is further based on a severity of the broadband fault. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the instructions further cause the system to notify an artificial intelligence (AI) advisor about the broadband fault. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the instructions further cause the system to diagnose, by an artificial intelligence (AI) advisor, the broadband fault. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the instructions further cause the system to determine, by an artificial intelligence (AI) advisor, one or more solutions to the broadband fault. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the instructions further cause the system to:
 identify a recurring broadband fault; and   issue by an artificial intelligence (AI) advisor in response to identifying the recurring broadband fault, a service ticket to resolve the recurring broadband fault.   
     
     
         17 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
 obtaining a performance of a wireline broadband connectivity, wherein the wireline broadband connectivity is associated with a wireline broadband connection of a residential gateway located at a residential address, and wherein the performance of the wireline broadband connectivity is based upon one or more of bit rate, latency, latency variation, packet loss, and bit error rate; and   providing broadband connectivity via a wireless broadband connection of the residential gateway based on a priority, wherein the priority is between the wireline broadband connection and the wireless broadband connection, wherein the priority is determined based on the performance of the wireline broadband connectivity, and wherein the wireless broadband connection is configured to only transfer data to one or more base stations determined to be in a vicinity of the residential address.   
     
     
         18 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 17 , wherein the priority is further based on quality of service parameters. 
     
     
         19 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 17 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 identifying a broadband fault, wherein the priority is further based on a severity of the broadband fault; and   notifying an artificial intelligence (AI) advisor about the broadband fault.   
     
     
         20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of  claim 19 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 diagnosing, by the AI advisor, the broadband fault; and   determining, by the AI advisor, one or more solutions to the broadband fault.
