Flavor containing sheet comprising lm-pectin for smoking articles and smoking article comprising the same

Abstract

Provided are a fragrance-containing sheet including LM-pectin for smoking articles, which includes moisture, thickening polysaccharide, low methoxyl pectin (LM-pectin), and fragrance, such that a smoking article including the fragrance-containing sheet gives off fragrance consistently during smoking.

1 . A fragrance-containing sheet for smoking articles, the fragrance-containing sheet comprising:
 moisture;   thickening polysaccharide;   low methoxyl pectin (LM-pectin); and   fragrance.   
     
     
         2 . The fragrance-containing sheet for smoking articles of  claim 1 , further comprising a bulking agent. 
     
     
         3 . The fragrance-containing sheet for smoking articles of  claim 1 , wherein
 the LM-pectin contains less than 50% of carboxyl groups, and   the LM-pectin does not gel when cooled at room temperature.   
     
     
         4 . The fragrance-containing sheet for smoking articles of  claim 1 , comprising, based on a total of 100 parts by weight, 2 to 15 parts by weight of the moisture, 1 to 60 parts by weight of the thickened polysaccharide, 1 to 60 parts by weight of the LM-pectin, and 0.1 to 60 parts by weight of the fragrance. 
     
     
         5 . The fragrance-containing sheet for smoking articles of  claim 1 , further comprising an aerosol former. 
     
     
         6 . The fragrance-containing sheet for smoking articles of  claim 1 , further comprising an emulsifier. 
     
     
         7 . The fragrance-containing sheet for smoking articles of  claim 2 , wherein
 the thickening polysaccharide is one of agar, gellan gum, carrageenan, and glucomannan, and   the bulking agent is dextrin.   
     
     
         8 . The fragrance-containing sheet for smoking articles of  claim 1 , wherein the fragrance-containing sheet has a thickness of 0.01 mm to 0.3 mm. 
     
     
         9 . A smoking article comprising:
 a first portion comprising a tobacco material and a fragrance-containing sheet; and   a second portion comprising a filter element,   wherein the first portion and the second portion are arranged in series along a longitudinal direction of the smoking article, and   wherein the fragrance-containing sheet comprises low methoxyl pectin (LM-pectin).   
     
     
         10 . The smoking article of  claim 9 , wherein
 the LM-pectin contains less than 50% of carboxyl groups, and   the LM-pectin does not gel when cooled at room temperature.   
     
     
         11 . The smoking article of  claim 9 , wherein the fragrance-containing sheet comprises, based on a total of 100 parts by weight, 2 to 15 parts by weight of moisture, 1 to 60 parts by weight of thickened polysaccharide, 1 to 60 parts by weight of the LM-pectin, and 0.1 to 60 parts by weight of fragrance. 
     
     
         12 . The smoking article of  claim 11 , wherein the thickening polysaccharide is one of agar, gellan gum, carrageenan, and glucomannan. 
     
     
         13 . The smoking article of  claim 9 , wherein the fragrance-containing sheet further comprises an aerosol former. 
     
     
         14 . The smoking article of  claim 9 , wherein the fragrance-containing sheet has a thickness of 0.01 mm to 0.3 mm. 
     
     
         15 . A combustion-type cigarette comprising:
 a first segment comprising a tobacco material and a fragrance-containing sheet; and   a second segment comprising a filter element,   wherein the first segment and the second segment are arranged in series along a longitudinal direction of the combustion-type cigarette, and   wherein the fragrance-containing sheet comprises low methoxyl pectin (LM-pectin).
