Abstract

Dispensing devices and systems for dispensing materials into a host vessel, optionally containing a host substance, are provided. The dispensing devices are removably attachable, in whole or in part, to a host vessel such as a water bottle or an alcohol bottle. The dispensing devices generally include a rotating capsule (perhaps with a quantity of flavor or nutritional supplements in the capsule) that can be rotated to a position to dispense the contents of the capsule into the host vessel. Depending upon configuration, the act of dispensing may involve squeezing, shaking, or the simple passive step of permitting gravity to act on the contents of the capsule.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed as new and desired to be protected by Letters Patent of the United States is:

         1 . A dispensing device, comprising:
 a) a rotatable capsule having contents and an opening; b) a removable liquid-tight seal over the opening; and c) a body rotatably supporting the capsule, the device being configured to dispense the contents from the capsule when the seal is removed and the capsule is rotated until the opening faces an opening in a host vessel.

2 . The dispensing device of claim 1 , wherein the body is configured to telescope.

3 . The dispensing device of claim 1 , wherein the contents of the capsule comprise at least one of a consumable liquid, a consumable solid, or a porous bag including a solid.

4 . The dispensing device of claim 1 , further including a secondary barrier between the contents and the host vessel.

         5 . A dispensing device, comprising:
 a) a hollow capsule rotatably supported by a cover for a host vessel, the capsule having an opening; and b) a removable seal over the opening of the capsule; wherein the device is configured to dispense any contents from the capsule when the seal is removed and the capsule is rotated to a position in which the opening of the capsule faces an opening in the host vessel.

6 . The dispensing device of claim 5 , further including a secondary barrier between the opening and the host vessel.

         7 . A dispensing system, comprising:
A host vessel with a neck; and A dispensing device removably connected with the neck, the dispensing device comprising a cover connected with a body wherein one of the cover or the body rotatably support a sealed capsule having contents therein, wherein the device is configured to dispense the contents from the capsule when the seal is removed and the capsule is rotated from a closed position to an open position.

8 . The dispensing system of claim 7 , wherein the neck includes a finish comprising spiral threading.

9 . The dispensing system of claim 7 further including a secondary barrier between the capsule and the host vessel.

10 . The dispensing system of claim 7 , wherein the cover and the body are integrally formed.
