Abstract
An apparatus is provided that may be used to secure an object or objects, such as a charging cord and/or charging adapter or block for example, at a location, such as at an alternating current (AC) wall outlet or other electrical outlet. Apparatus can be sized and dimensioned to secure a complimentary smartphone or cellphone and/or computer (e.g., laptop, tablet, etc.) charging cord and/or charging adapter or block to an electrical outlet using a keyed or other mated fastener.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 20 . (canceled)
21 . An apparatus for securing a charger block to an electrical outlet comprising:
a unitary body that includes:
a curved portion that includes a coupling surface for coupling to a first surface of the charger block, wherein the curved portion includes an orifice for receiving a charging cord for the charger block;
an outlet mounting portion that includes a coupling surface for coupling to the electrical outlet, wherein the outlet mounting portion includes an orifice for receiving a fastener to secure the charger block to the electrical outlet; and
a linear portion extending from the curved portion to the outlet mounting portion, wherein the linear portion includes a coupling surface for coupling to a second surface of the charger block, wherein the first and second surfaces of the charger block are opposing surfaces.
22 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the unitary body has a J-shape.
23 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the unitary body includes a substantially flat outer surface.
24 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein an outer surface of the unitary body includes at least one longitudinal rib that extends along at least one of the curved portion and the linear portion.
25 . The apparatus of claim 24 , wherein the at least one longitudinal rib includes one or more of a sloped surface, a pointed surface, or a curved surface.
26 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein a distal portion of the curved portion provides the coupling surface for coupling to the first surface of the charger block.
27 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the coupling surface of the curved portion couples to an upper surface or a lower surface the charger block.
28 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the coupling surface of the curved portion comprises a lateral surface that couples to the first surface of the charger block.
29 . The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein lateral surface is curved, sloped, pointed, or flat.
30 . The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the coupling surface of the linear portion couples to and extends along the second surface of the charger block.
31 . An apparatus for securing a charger block to an electrical outlet comprising:
a unitary body that includes:
a curved portion that is configured to be positioned away from and behind a rear portion of a charger block when the apparatus secures the charger block to an electrical outlet;
a first coupling portion for coupling to a first surface of the charger block;
a second coupling portion for coupling to a second surface of the charger block, wherein the first and second surfaces of the charger block are opposing surfaces;
an orifice for receiving a charging cord for the charger block; and
an outlet mounting portion that includes a coupling surface for coupling to the electrical outlet, wherein the outlet mounting portion includes an orifice for securing a fastener to the electrical outlet.
32 . The apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the orifice for receiving the charging cord of the charger block is part of the curved portion.
33 . The apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the curved portion forms an opening in relation to a rear surface of the charger block when the apparatus secures the charger block to the electrical outlet.
34 . The apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the curved portion is positioned behind a rear surface of the charger block when the apparatus secures the charger block to the electrical outlet.
35 . The apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the second coupling portion extends along the second surface of the charger block when the apparatus secures the charger block to the electrical outlet.
36 . The apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the first coupling portion is part of the curved portion.
37 . The apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the first coupling portion is adjacent to the curved portion.
38 . The apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the unitary body includes at least one longitudinal rib fully or partially encompassing an outer surface of the unitary body.
39 . The apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the outlet mounting portion is substantially flat and substantially perpendicular to the second coupling portion.
40 . A kit comprising:
a charger block; a charging cord; a lock apparatus that includes:
a curved portion that is configured to be positioned away from and behind a rear portion of the charger block when the lock apparatus secures the charger block to an electrical outlet;
a first coupling portion for coupling to a first surface of the charger block;
a second coupling portion for coupling to a second surface of the charger block, wherein the first and second surfaces of the charger block are opposing surfaces;
an orifice for receiving the charging cord; and
an outlet mounting portion that includes a coupling surface for coupling to the electrical outlet, wherein the outlet mounting portion includes an orifice for securing a fastener to the electrical outlet.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
