Abstract
A holster for a communications device comprises a backing having a first longitudinal edge, an opposite second longitudinal edge, a first lateral edge, and an opposing second lateral edge. A pouch is coupled to the backing and has an interior surface. A first ring assembly and a second ring assembly each lie in a plane parallel to the first and second lateral edges. A strap assembly is coupled to the backing and is selectively couplable with the pouch. The strap assembly is configured to selectively contract the pouch. The strap assembly includes a cord extending through an eyelet disposed centrally between the first ring assembly and the second ring assembly. A handle is coupled to the cord along a portion of the cord.

1 . A holster for a communications device, comprising:
a backing having a first longitudinal edge, an opposite second longitudinal edge, a first lateral edge, and an opposing second lateral edge; a pouch coupled to the backing and having an interior surface; a first ring assembly and a second ring assembly each lying in a plane parallel to the first and second lateral edges; a strap assembly coupled to the backing and selectively couplable with the pouch, the strap assembly being configured to selectively contract the pouch, the strap assembly including: a cord extending through an eyelet disposed centrally between the first ring assembly and the second ring assembly; and a handle coupled to the cord along a portion of the cord.
2 . The holster of claim 1 , wherein the backing further includes:
a rigid layer; an interior layer; an exterior layer; and wherein the rigid layer is disposed between the interior layer and the exterior layer, the interior layer comprising a backing interior liner, the backing interior liner including the at least one of a fire-resistant material and a fire-retardant material.
3 . The holster of claim 2 , wherein the pouch is configured to be selectively contracted, having a front wall, a first sidewall, an opposing second sidewall, and a bottom wall.
4 . The holster of claim 3 , wherein the pouch further includes a first securing element disposed along the front wall.
5 . The holster of claim 4 , wherein the first securing element includes:
a component of a hook and loop fastener; and a plurality of tabs spaced along at least one of the first sidewall and the opposing second sidewall.
6 . The holster of claim 5 , wherein:
the first sidewall is coupled along the first longitudinal edge of the backing, the opposing second sidewall is coupled along the opposing second longitudinal edge of the backing; and the bottom wall is coupled along the opposing second lateral edge of the backing.
7 . The holster of claim 1 , wherein the backing and the pouch cooperatively define a cavity sized and configured to selectively receive a communications device therein.
8 . The holster of claim 4 , wherein the strap assembly further includes a second securing element disposed along the surface of the handle, the second securing element includes an opposite component of the component of the hook and loop fastener of the securing element, the second securing element selectively couplable to the first securing element of the pouch.
9 . The holster of claim 1 , wherein the strap assembly includes a strap that includes an adjustable nylon cord.
10 . The holster of claim 1 , wherein the interior surface of the pouch includes at least one of a fire-resistant material and a fire-retardant material.
11 . The holster of claim 1 , wherein the eyelet is positioned above an opening of the cavity.
12 . A holster for a communications device, comprising:
a backing; a pouch coupled to the backing, the backing and the pouch cooperatively defining a cavity sized and configured to selectively receive the communications device; and a strap assembly coupled to the backing and selectively couplable with the pouch, the strap assembly including: a cord extending through an eyelet disposed centrally between a first ring assembly and a second ring assembly.
13 . The holster of claim 12 , wherein the backing includes:
a first longitudinal edge; a second longitudinal edge opposite the first longitudinal edge; a first lateral edge; and a second lateral edge opposite the first lateral edge.
14 . The holster of claim 13 , wherein the first ring assembly and the second ring assembly each lie in a plane parallel to the first and second lateral edges.
15 . The holster of claim 12 , wherein the strap assembly further includes a handle coupled to the cord along a portion of the cord.
16 . The holster of claim 12 , wherein the backing further includes:
a rigid layer; an interior layer; an exterior layer; and wherein the rigid layer is disposed between the interior layer and the exterior layer, the interior layer comprising a backing interior liner, the backing interior liner including the at least one of a fire-resistant material and a fire-retardant material.
17 . The holster of claim 16 , wherein the pouch further includes a first securing element disposed along the front wall.
18 . The holster of claim 12 , wherein the eyelet defines an aperture sized and configured to receive at least a portion of the cord therethrough.
19 . The holster of claim 12 , wherein the eyelet is positioned above an opening of the cavity

a backing having: a first longitudinal edge, an opposite second longitudinal edge, a first lateral edge, and an opposing second lateral edge; a rigid layer, an interior layer, and an exterior layer, the rigid layer being disposed between the interior layer and the exterior layer, the interior layer comprising a backing interior liner, the backing interior liner including the at least one of a fire-resistant material and a fire-retardant material; a pouch coupled to the backing and having an interior surface, the pouch being configured to be selectively contracted, having a front wall, a first sidewall, an opposing second sidewall, and a bottom wall, the interior surface including at least one of a fire-resistant material and a fire-retardant material; a first securing element disposed along a front wall of the pouch and including:
a component of a hook and loop fastener; and
a plurality of tabs spaced along at least one of the first sidewall and the opposing second sidewall; and
a first ring assembly and a second ring assembly each lying in a plane parallel to the first and second lateral edges; a strap assembly coupled to the backing and selectively couplable with the pouch, the strap assembly being configured to selectively contract the pouch, the strap assembly including:
a cord extending through an eyelet disposed centrally between the first ring assembly and the second ring assembly, the eyelet being coaxial with the first securing element;
a handle coupled to the cord along a portion of the cord; and
