Furniture Article

Abstract

Disclosed is a furniture article capable of many uses by a person or persons. In one embodiment, the furniture article comprises a base unit and first, second, third, and fourth cushions resting upon the base unit. The base unit comprises a first frame section for supporting the third cushion, a second frame section for supporting the fourth cushion, a third frame section for supporting the second cushion; a fixed frame section for supporting the first cushion. The first frame section being movable to a position where the first and second cushions are flat and the third and fourth cushions are inclined for use as a sofa. The second frame section and the third frame section being movable to a position where the first and third cushions are flat and the second cushion and fourth cushion are inclined for use as a two person lounge chair.

What is claimed: 
     
         1 . A furniture article comprising:
 a base unit;   a first cushion engaged with said base unit;   a second cushion engaged with said base unit and positioned adjacent to said first cushion;   a third cushion engaged with said base unit and positioned adjacent to said first cushion;   a fourth cushion engaged with said base unit and positioned adjacent to said second cushion and said third cushion;   said base unit comprising a first frame section supporting said third cushion, a second frame section substantially supporting said fourth cushion, a third frame section supporting said second cushion, and a fixed frame section supporting said first cushion;   said first frame section is movable to a position where said first cushion and said second cushion are flat and said third cushion and said fourth cushion are inclined to allow the furniture article to be used as a sofa; and   said second frame section and said third frame section are movable to a position where said first cushion and said third cushion are flat and said second cushion and said fourth cushion are inclined to allow the furniture article to be as a two person lounge chair.   
     
     
         2 . The furniture article of  claim 1 , wherein said first frame section, said second frame section and said third frame section are movable to a position where said first cushion and said second cushion are flat and said third cushion and said fourth cushion are flat to allow the furniture article to be used a flat bed. 
     
     
         3 . The furniture article of  claim 2 , said second frame section is movable to a position where said first cushion and said second cushion are flat and said third cushion is flat and said fourth cushion is upright to allow the furniture article to be used as a lounge chair. 
     
     
         4 . The furniture article of  claim 3 , said third frame section is movable to a position where said first cushion and said second cushion are flat and said fourth cushion is flat and said third cushion is upright to allow the furniture article to be used as a lounge chair. 
     
     
         5 . The furniture article of  claim 4 , wherein said base unit comprises a base frame support; said first frame section is pivotally engaged with said base frame support between a flat position and an inclined position; said second frame section pivotally engaged with first frame section between a flat position and an inclined position, and a third frame section pivotally engaged with said base frame support between a flat position and an inclined position. 
     
     
         6 . The furniture article of  claim 5 , wherein said base unit further comprises a first frame section retention unit to retain said first frame section in an inclined position. 
     
     
         7 . The furniture article of  claim 6 , wherein said base unit further comprises a second frame section retention unit to retain said second frame section in an inclined position. 
     
     
         8 . The furniture article of  claim 7 , wherein said base unit further comprises a third frame section retention unit to retain said third frame section in an inclined position. 
     
     
         9 . The furniture article of  claim 8 , wherein said first frame section retention unit comprises a retention bar engaged with said base frame support and a support arm movably engaged with said first frame section; said support arm is removably engaged with said retention bar to position said first frame section in an inclined position. 
     
     
         10 . The furniture article of  claim 9 , wherein said second frame section retention unit comprises a left retention bar and a right retention bar engaged with said base frame support and a support arm movably engaged with said second frame section; said support arm of said second frame section retention unit is removably engaged with said left and right retention bars to position said second frame section in an inclined position. 
     
     
         11 . The furniture article of  claim 10 , wherein said third frame section retention unit comprises a retention bar engaged with said base frame support and a support arm movably engaged with said third frame section; said support arm of said third frame section retention unit is removably engaged with said retention bar of said third frame section retention unit to position said third frame section in an inclined position. 
     
     
         12 . The furniture article of  claim 11 , wherein said first frame section comprises a lower support bar movably engaged with said central support bar.
