Abstract

A footwear includes an upper and a sole. The upper includes a membrane and at least one outer layer. The membrane is a waterproof and breathable membrane. The membrane is attached to an insole and the membrane is attached to a lower end of the outer layer. The membrane is adhered to the lower end of the outer layer by an anchoring adhesive. The anchoring adhesive is resistant to post treatment and the insole is attached to the sole.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A footwear comprising:
an upper; and a sole, wherein the upper includes a membrane and at least one outer layer, wherein the membrane is a waterproof and breathable membrane, wherein the membrane is attached to an insole and the membrane is attached to a lower end of the outer layer, wherein the membrane is adhered to the lower end of the outer layer by an anchoring adhesive, wherein the anchoring adhesive is resistant to post treatment, and wherein the insole is attached to the sole.

2 . The footwear according to claim 1 , wherein the anchoring adhesive is resistant to a steaming process from the outside during lasting.

3 . The footwear according to claim 1 , wherein the post treatment is a steaming process performed during lasting of the upper.

4 . The footwear according to claim 1 , wherein the post treatment is a heating process performed during lasting of the upper.

5 . The footwear according to claim 1 , wherein the insole is attached to the sole by stitching.

         6 . (canceled)

7 . The footwear according to claim 1 , wherein the insole is a strobel sole.

         8 .- 10 . (canceled)

11 . The footwear according to claim 5 , wherein a length of stitches of the stitching is at least 1.5 mm.

         12 .- 19 . (canceled)

20 . The footwear according to claim 1 , wherein the anchoring adhesive has a melting point of at least 50 degrees Celsius.

21 . The footwear according to claim 1 , wherein the anchoring adhesive has a melting point between 30-200 degrees Celsius.

         22 - 25 . (canceled)

26 . The footwear according to claim 1 , wherein the anchoring adhesive is heat-activated.

         27 .- 32 . (canceled)

33 . The footwear according to claim 1 , wherein the anchoring adhesive is at least one of; epoxies, methyl methacrylates, silicone adhesives, or urethanes.

         34 .- 37 . (canceled)

38 . The footwear according to claim 1 , wherein the anchoring adhesive is a polyurethane, and
wherein an application temperature of the anchoring adhesive is between 90-160 degrees Celsius.

         39 .- 59 . (canceled)

60 . The footwear according to claim 5 , wherein the stitching attaches a lower end of the membrane to the insole by stitches without perforating the lower end of the outer layer.

         61 .- 68 . (canceled)

69 . The footwear according to claim 1 , wherein the sole is injection molded to the upper.

         70 .- 75 . (canceled)

76 . The footwear according to claim 60 , wherein the lower end of the outer layer is adhered around substantially a total circumference to the lower end of the membrane.

         77 .- 106 . (canceled)

107 . A method of manufacturing a footwear comprising an upper and a sole, wherein the upper includes a membrane and at least one outer layer, wherein the membrane is a waterproof breathable membrane, wherein anchoring adhesive is applied to a lower end of the membrane and/or a lower end of the at least one outer layer to attach the membrane and the at least one outer layer, the method comprising steps of:
attaching the lower end of the membrane to an insole, lasting the upper on a last, subjecting the to post treatment while the upper is lasted to obtain a desired 3D shape of the upper without reactivating the anchoring adhesive, and applying an outsole (OS) to the upper while the upper is lasted.

108 . The method of manufacturing the footwear according to claim 107 , wherein the lower end of the membrane is longer than the lower end of the at least one outer layer.

109 . The method of manufacturing a footwear according to claim 107 , wherein the step of attaching the lower end of the membrane to the insole is performed by stitching.

110 . The method of manufacturing a footwear according to claim 107 , wherein the step of attaching the lower end of the membrane to the insole is performed by stitching, and
wherein the stitching attaches the lower end of the membrane to the insole by stitches without perforating the lower end of the at least one outer layer.

111 . The method of manufacturing a footwear according to claim 107 , wherein the post treatment includes application of heat, steam, and/or radiation to obtain the desired 3D shape of the upper.

         112 . (canceled)
