Abstract
An implant for occluding a left atrial appendage may include an expandable framework including a body portion and a disk portion, wherein the expandable framework is configured to shift between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, and an occlusive disk element disposed within the disk portion. The disk portion may include a first disk portion integrally formed with the body portion, and a second disk portion movably attached to the first disk portion by at least one hinge member.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An implant for occluding a left atrial appendage, comprising:
an expandable framework configured to shift between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration; wherein the expandable framework includes a body portion and a disk portion; wherein the expandable framework includes a proximal hub and a distal hub; wherein the distal hub is disposed within an interior of the body portion.
2 . The implant of claim 1 , wherein the disk portion is spaced apart from the body portion in the expanded configuration.
3 . The implant of claim 1 , wherein the proximal hub is disposed proximal of the body portion.
4 . The implant of claim 1 , further comprising an occlusive element secured to the body portion.
5 . The implant of claim 1 , further comprising an occlusive disk element secured to the disk portion.
6 . The implant of claim 5 , wherein the occlusive disk element is disposed within the disk portion.
7 . The implant of claim 1 , wherein a neck portion extends from the body portion to the disk portion.
8 . An implant for occluding a left atrial appendage, comprising:
an expandable framework configured to shift between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration; wherein the expandable framework includes a body portion and a disk portion; wherein the expandable framework includes a proximal hub and a distal hub; wherein the distal hub faces toward the proximal hub.
9 . The implant of claim 8 , wherein the proximal hub is disposed proximal of the body portion.
10 . The implant of claim 8 , wherein the proximal hub is disposed proximal of the disk portion.
11 . The implant of claim 8 , further comprising an occlusive element secured to the body portion.
12 . The implant of claim 8 , further comprising an occlusive disk element secured to the disk portion.
13 . The implant of claim 12 , wherein the occlusive disk element is disposed within the disk portion.
14 . The implant of claim 8 , wherein at least a portion of the distal hub is disposed proximal of a distalmost extent of the body portion in the expanded configuration.
15 . An implant for occluding a left atrial appendage, comprising:
an expandable framework configured to shift between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration; wherein the expandable framework includes a body portion and a disk portion; wherein the expandable framework includes a proximal hub and a distal hub; wherein at least a portion of the distal hub is disposed proximal of a distalmost extent of the body portion in the expanded configuration.
16 . The implant of claim 15 , wherein the disk portion includes a proximal disk portion and a distal disk portion movable relative to the proximal disk portion when the expandable framework shifts between the collapsed configuration and the expanded configuration.
17 . The implant of claim 16 , further comprising an occlusive disk element secured to the disk portion.
18 . The implant of claim 17 , wherein the occlusive disk element is disposed between the proximal disk portion and the distal disk portion in the expanded configuration.
19 . The implant of claim 15 , further comprising an occlusive element secured to the body portion.
20 . The implant of claim 19 , further comprising an occlusive disk element secured to the disk portion.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
