Abstract

This disclosure describes lower torso coverings that are assembled to create a crotch-area access point that can be opened by the wearer, without the wearer needing to remove an article of clothing. The lower torso coverings incorporate a crotch-area opening that is created by parting counterpart portions of the lower torso covering. The crotch-area opening is typically covered while the wearer adopts a standing, walking, or running stance. In some embodiments, the wearer is required to stretch apart, counterpart portions of the lower torso covering to create the crotch-area opening. Accordingly, digital manipulation of a crotch-area fastening mechanism, such as buttons, zippers, or another suitable fastening mechanism is no longer required.

         8 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein a first inner elastic band is attached to side edges of the inner layer, the first elastic band extending from a first point on a lower horizontal edge of the hips-covering region, around the leg opening and back to the first point on the lower horizontal edge of the hips-covering region, and
 wherein a second inner elastic band is attached to an opposing side edge of the inner layer, the second elastic band extending from a second point on the lower horizontal edge of the hips-covering region, around the counterpart leg opening and back to the second point on the lower horizontal edge of the hips-covering region, the second point mirroring a location of the first point on the hips-covering region.

         9 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein a first outer elastic band is attached to side edges of the outer layer, the first elastic band extending from a first point on a lower horizontal edge of the hips-covering region, around the leg opening and back to the first point on the lower horizontal edge of the hips-covering region, and
 wherein a second outer elastic band is attached an opposing side edge of the outer layer, the second elastic band extending from a second point on the lower horizontal edge of the hips-covering region, around the counterpart leg opening and back to the second point on the lower horizontal edge of the hips-covering region, the second point mirroring a location of the first point on the hips-covering region.

         10 . The garment of claim 9 , wherein a first inner elastic band is attached to side edges of the inner layer, the first inner elastic band replicating the first outer elastic band that is attached to the side edges of the outer layer, and
 wherein a second inner elastic band is attached to sides edges of the inner layer, the second inner elastic band replicating the second outer elastic band that is attached to the side edges of the outer layer.

         11 . A lower body garment for a lower torso of a wearer, comprising:
 a lower torso covering that comprises a buttocks-covering region, a hip region, a crotch region, and a frontal region, the lower torso covering having a pair of opposing leg opening that are sized to receive legs of the wearer; the lower torso covering including a waistband, a first legging portion, a second legging portion, and a gusset portion, wherein:
 the waistband creates a hip covering for the hip region, the waistband extending from a centerline of the buttocks-covering region, around the hip region, and terminating at the centerline of the buttocks-covering region;
 the first legging portion having a starting edge and a terminating edge, the starting edge extending downward diagonally from a starting point on the waistband that is proximate to a centerline of the frontal region, the first legging portion extending diagonally downward from the waistband towards the buttocks-covering region to create a buttocks-covering region covering and further towards the frontal region to create a first leg opening, the first legging portion to further terminate at a terminating edge that extends diagonally from an intersection between the first leg opening and the crotch region to a terminating point on the waistband that substantially aligns with a centerline of a second leg opening, the terminating edge overlapping the starting edge;
 the second legging portion creates a second leg opening, the second legging portion nestling within abutting regions of an inner face of the first legging portion, the second legging portion being fixedly attached to at least the waistband;
 a gusset creating a crotch covering over the crotch region, the gusset being fixedly attached to the terminating edge of the first legging portion, the gusset further having a free edge that overlays onto and abuts the second leg opening; and
   the lower torso portion permitting the wearer to stretch the gusset towards the first leg opening to create an opening that exposes a crotch of the wearer.
