Trimmer head

Abstract

The subject invention relates to a trimmer head for vegetation trimming and cutting machines, the trimmer head comprising a housing , a cutting blade , and a cutting blade shield with a plurality of through-openings , characterized in that it further comprises a vacuuming air assembly arranged in the housing such that, in operation, a vacuuming air flow is generated and directed from said cutting blade shield openings to an interior of the housing . The invention belongs to the field of apparatus for trimming and cutting grass, small bush wood, hedges, weed and reed.

1 . A trimmer head comprising:
 a housing,   a cutting blade,   a cutting blade shield with a plurality of through-openings,  wherein the trimmer head further comprises a vacuuming air assembly arranged in the housing such that, in operation, a vacuuming air flow is generated and directed from said cutting blade shield openingsto an interior of the housing. 
     
     
         2 . The trimmer head according to  claim 1 , wherein the vacuuming air assembly comprises at least one vacuum air intakepointing to said through-openings such that, in operation, a vacuuming air flow is directed to the vacuum air intake. 
     
     
         3 . The trimmer head according to  claim 1 , wherein the vacuuming air assembly comprises a vacuuming centrifugal fan arranged in air-connection with at least one of the cutting blade shield through-openings, such that, in operation, the centrifugal fan vacuums air through said, at least one, cutting blade shield through-openings. 
     
     
         4 . The trimmer head according to  claim 3 , further comprising a vacuum air intake zone arranged in between the vacuum air intake and an air intake of the vacuuming centrifugal fan. 
     
     
         5 . The trimmer head according to  claim 3 , wherein the vacuuming centrifugal fan comprises 8 to 20 fan wings, preferably 14 fan wings. 
     
     
         6 . The trimmer head according to  claim 1 , wherein the cutting blade is a rotating blade comprising at least one knife that is angled in relation to a reference radial line. 
     
     
         7 . The trimmer head according to  claim 6 , wherein at least one cutting blade knife of the rotating cutting blade is angled forwards in the rotational direction relative a reference radial line. 
     
     
         8 . The trimmer head according to  claim 6 , wherein a total number of cutting blade knives and vacuuming fan wings is an odd number. 
     
     
         9 . The trimmer head according to  claim 1 , further comprising a ground shield fixedly attached or detachably attached to the housing. 
     
     
         10 . The trimmer head according to  claim 9 , wherein the housing is made of a plurality of parts and the ground shield is fixed to, or detachable from, at least one of said plurality of parts. 
     
     
         11 . The trimmer head according to  claim 1 , wherein the cutting blade shield is attachable to and detachable from the housing. 
     
     
         12 . The trimmer head according to  claim 1 , wherein the cutting blade shield comprises at least one solid part and at least one through-openings part. 
     
     
         13 . The trimmer head according to  claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of through-openings of the cutting blade shield has a width in the range of 4 to 12 mm. 
     
     
         14 . The trimmer head according to  claim 1 , wherein clearances between parts are less than 5 mm. 
     
     
         15 . The trimmer head according to  claim 2 , wherein an inner height of the cutting blade shield is about the same height of the vacuum air intake. 
     
     
         16 . The trimmer head according to  claim 3 , wherein the vacuuming centrifugal fan comprises 14 of the fan wings. 
     
     
         17 . The trimmer head according to  claim 7  wherein the cutting blade comprises 2 to 6 of the knives. 
     
     
         18 . The trimmer head according to  claim 7  wherein the cutting blade comprises 5 of the knives. 
     
     
         19 . The trimmer head according to  claim 12 , wherein the cutting blade shield comprises one of the solid parts arranged between two of the through-openings parts. 
     
     
         20 . The trimmer head according to  claim 14 , wherein clearances between parts are in the range of 2 to 5 mm.
