System for Managing Personal Health Regimens based on Continuously-Adjusted Incentives

Abstract

Systems, devices and methods for managing personal activities and health regimens are provided. In some aspects, a control system comprising specialized computer hardware and software provides instruction(s), warning(s), penalty(ies), encouragement(s) and incentive(s) to a user, based on such a health regimen. In additional aspects, such instruction(s), warning(s), penalty(ies), encouragement(s) and incentive(s) are also based on data from specialized sensors tracking a user's personal activities within a personal activity space. In some aspects, instruction(s), warning(s), penalty(ies), encouragement(s) and incentive(s) are adjusted in real time, based on input from multiple users. In one example, a partial giveback reward is provided to a user, in which part of a regimen goal that is exceeded is provided back to the user as one such incentive.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen, comprising:
 a control system comprising specialized computer software and computer hardware, comprising:
 at least one portable personal device with an on-board power supply, comprising personal activity sensor(s) configured to monitor a user's physical activities within a personal activity space, which personal activity sensor(s) are communicatively connected with at least part of said computer hardware; 
 at least one output device, configured to communicate instruction(s), warning(s), penalty(ies), encouragement(s) and incentive(s) to a user regarding each of: A) said user's personal activity history, B) said user's health-relevant environment, and C) said personal activity regimen. 
   
     
     
         2 . The system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen of  claim 1 , wherein said incentive(s) include at least one partial giveback reward. 
     
     
         3 . The system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen of  claim 2 , wherein said control system provides at least some of said incentive(s) to said user based on data related to said user achieving progress toward a goal of said personal activity regimen. 
     
     
         4 . The system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen of  claim 2 , wherein said control system provides at least some of said incentive(s) to said user based on data related to said user exceeding a goal of said personal activity regimen. 
     
     
         5 . The system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen of  claim 3 , wherein said control system provides said partial giveback reward to said user based on said data related to said user achieving progress toward said goal of said personal activity regimen. 
     
     
         6 . The system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen of  claim 4 , wherein said control system provides said partial giveback reward to said user based on said data related to said user exceeding said goal of said personal activity regimen.

The system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen of  claim 1 , wherein which goal(s) of said personal activity regimen are variably set, in real time, by multiple users of said system, which multiple users of said system include at least one administrative user, with authority to provide said incentive(s). 
     
     
         8 . The system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen of  claim 7 , wherein at least one of said incentive(s) is a financial incentive. 
     
     
         9 . A computer program, comprising instructions which, when executed by a computer, cause a computer to carry out the following steps:

 at least one portable personal device with an on-board power supply, comprising personal activity sensor(s) configured to monitor said user's physical activities within a personal activity space, which personal activity sensor(s) are communicatively connected with at least part of said computer hardware; 
 at least one output device, configured to provide instruction(s), warning(s), penalty(ies), encouragement(s) and incentive(s) to a user regarding each of: A) said user's personal activity history, B) said user's health-relevant environment, and C) said personal activity regimen. 
   
     
     
         10 . The system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen of  claim 9 , wherein said incentive(s) include at least one partial giveback reward. 
     
     
         11 . The system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen of  claim 2 , wherein said control system provides at least some of said incentive(s) to said user based on data related to said user achieving progress toward a goal of said personal activity regimen. 
     
     
         12 . The system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen of  claim 2 , wherein said control system provides at least some of said incentive(s) to said user based on data related to said user exceeding a goal of said personal activity regimen. 
     
     
         13 . The system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen of  claim 3 , wherein said control system provides said partial giveback reward to said user based on said data related to said user achieving progress toward said goal of said personal activity regimen. 
     
     
         14 . The system for managing compliance with a personal activity regimen of  claim 4 , wherein said control system provides said partial giveback reward to said user based on said data related to said user exceeding said goal of said personal activity regimen.
