System and method for the generation and interactive editing of living documents

Abstract

A website building system (WBS) has at least one processor, a text content generator and a living document generator, both implemented on at least one processor. The text content generator generates a living document from a plurality of document sections stored on a storage device. The text content generator selects the document sections as a function of attributes of a designer or an end-user of a website. The living document generator updates the living document when changes to at least one of legal, business and website environments related to the living document occur.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A website building system (WBS) comprising:
 at least one processor;   a text content generator implemented on said at least one processor to generate a living document from a plurality of document sections stored on a storage device, said text content generator to select said document sections as a function of attributes of a designer or an end-user of a website; and   a living document generator implemented on said at least one processor to update said living document when changes to at least one of legal, business and website environments related to said living document occur.   
     
     
         2 . The WBS according to  claim 1  and wherein said living document generator comprises:
 a monitoring engine to monitor said internal and external data sources for changes that affect said living documents; 
 a policy knowledge engine (PKE) to recommend changes to section text content of said living documents after analysis of an impact of external legal and/or regulatory source data on said living documents; and 
 a notification engine to notify at least one of designers and WBS vendor staff of changes recommended by said PKE. 
 
     
     
         3 . The WBS according to  claim 1  and wherein said text content generator comprises an HDS editor to enable a designer to select one recommended said section text option for one said section text and to enable pre-publication and post-publication editing of said section text and said section text options. 
     
     
         4 . The WBS according to  claim 1  and wherein said living document generator comprises an analysis engine to analyze internal data sources of said WBS and at least one of external online and offline data sources to determine WBS information and business operational information relevant to said living documents. 
     
     
         5 . The WBS according to  claim 1  and wherein said business environment is at least one of: business operations and activity of said designer, business operations of other designers in a similar business and product portfolios. 
     
     
         6 . The WBS according to  claim 1  and wherein said legal environment is at least one of: applicable laws, statutes, regulation, directives, guidelines, standards, industry standards and external environmental considerations. 
     
     
         7 . The WBS according to  claim 5  and wherein said website environment is at least one of: a website of said designer, information in said WBS about said website of said designer, and websites of designers is said similar or comparable businesses. 
     
     
         8 . The WBS according to  claim 2 , said PKE to detect changes to said section text content and to correlate said section text changes with changes to its associated website. 
     
     
         9 . The WBS according to  claim 4 , said analysis engine to detect changes to websites of designers in a similar business to a present website. 
     
     
         10 . The WBS according to  claim 4  and wherein said internal data sources of said WBS comprises at least one of: WBS elements used in websites belonging to said designer, code associated with said WBS elements, information gathered from said designer, business information related to said websites, operational information of said websites, cookies of said websites, and site commercial database information. 
     
     
         11 . The WBS according to  claim 4  and wherein said at least one of external online and offline data sources comprises at least one of: law and regulation online and offline repositories. 
     
     
         12 . The WBS according to  claim 4  and wherein said analysis engine comprises a machine learning engine which generates said section text content based on said websites. 
     
     
         13 . A method for a website building system (WBS) comprising:
 generating a living document from a plurality of document sections, wherein said generating comprises selecting said document sections as a function of attributes of a designer or an end-user of a website; and   updating said living document when changes to at least one of legal, business and website environments related to said living document occur.   
     
     
         14 . The method according to  claim 13  and wherein said generating comprises:
 monitoring said internal and external data sources for changes that affect said living documents; 
 recommending changes to section text content of said living documents after analysis of an impact of external legal and/or regulatory source data on said living documents; and 
 notifying at least one of designers and WBS vendor staff of said changes. 
 
     
     
         15 . The method according to  claim 13  and wherein said generating comprises enabling a designer to select one recommended said section text option for one said section text and enabling pre-publication and post-publication editing of said section text and said section text options. 
     
     
         16 . The method according to  claim 13  and wherein said updating comprises analyzing internal data sources of said WBS and at least one of external online and offline data sources to determine WBS information and business operational information relevant to said living documents. 
     
     
         17 . The method according to  claim 13  and wherein said business environment is at least one of: business operations and activity of said designer, business operations of other designers in a similar business and product portfolios. 
     
     
         18 . The method according to  claim 13  and wherein said legal environment is at least one of: applicable laws, statutes, regulation, directives, guidelines, standards, industry standards and external environmental considerations. 
     
     
         19 . The method according to  claim 17  and wherein said website environment is at least one of: a website of said designer, information in said WBS about said website of said designer, and websites of designers is said similar or comparable businesses. 
     
     
         20 . The method according to  claim 14 , said recommending comprises detecting changes to said section text content and correlating said section text changes with changes to its associated website.
