Devices and methods for pre-rolled smoking tubes
Abstract
Devices and methods for pre-rolled smoking tubes are described herein. The devices include a tube configured to roll a smoking tube. The tube includes a distal end having a distal opening, a proximal end spaced from the distal end along a central axis, the proximal end having at least one or a plurality of customizable proximal openings that regulate airflow in the tube, and a lumen that extends from the distal opening to the at least one proximal opening along the central axis. This configuration allows the creation of differing airflow patterns in the tube, reduced waste of desired materials during the manufacturing of filled smoking tubes, and reduced charred materials entering a user's oral cavity. The device may also be used, in whole or in part, as a mandrel during the manufacturing of pre-rolled tubes via an automated, semi-automated, or manual processes.

1 . A device, comprising:
a tube configured to roll a smoking tube, the tube having:
a distal end having a distal opening;
a proximal end spaced from the distal end along a central axis, the proximal end having at least one proximal opening; and
a lumen that extends from the distal opening to the at least one proximal opening along the central axis such that the distal opening and the at least one proximal opening each have an outer diameter and an inner diameter, wherein the tube is further configured to act as a mouthpiece of the rolled smoking tube.
2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one proximal opening is a plurality of openings disposed on the proximal end in customizable patterns.
3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the tube is made of an injection plastic, a molded fiber, or a ceramic material.
4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the tube is further configured to be used as a mandrel and roll a smoking tube during automated manufacturing of pre-rolled smoking tubes.
5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the tube includes at least one opening on an outer surface of the tube, the at least one opening configured to adjust airflow patterns.
6 . The device of claim 5 , wherein the at least one opening is a hole that extends from the outer surface of the tube to the lumen.
7 . The device of claim 5 , wherein the at least one opening is a slit that extends from the outer surface of the tube to the lumen.
8 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the tube has a length of at least 1 inch.
9 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the inner diameter of the distal opening is at least 0.157 inches.
10 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the tube further includes an orifice configured to act as a receptacle for a filter.
11 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the outer diameter of the distal opening is less than the outer diameter of the at least one proximal opening.
12 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the outer diameter of the distal opening is equal to the outer diameter of the at least one proximal opening.
13 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the inner diameter of the at least one proximal opening is greater than the inner diameter of the distal opening.
14 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the inner diameter of the at least one proximal opening is equal to the inner diameter of the distal opening.
15 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one proximal opening includes a proximal diameter that is less than the inner diameter of the at least one proximal opening and greater than the inner diameter of the distal opening.
16 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the proximal end includes at least four proximal openings disposed along a plane that is perpendicular to the central axis.
17 . The device of claim 5 , wherein the lumen extends from the distal opening to the at least four proximal openings.
18 . The device of claim 5 , wherein the outer diameters and the inner diameters of the at least four proximal openings are equal.
19 . A method, comprising:
creating a mold of a tube configured to roll a smoking tube, the tube having:
a distal end having a distal opening,
a proximal end spaced from the distal end along a central axis, and
a lumen that extends from the distal opening to the at least one proximal opening along the central axis; and
die cutting the formed tube at the proximal end to create one or more customizable openings at the proximal end.
20 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising heating and injecting a rigid material into the mold to form the tube.
21 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising heating and applying pressure to the mold to form the tube.
