Abstract

A method for preparing a rooting plug is disclosed. The method calls for mixing a composition comprising (i) 0.2%-10% w/w bio-degradable polymer and (ii) an organic non-hydroxylic solvent with a plug mix. The resulting method prepares a rooting plug.

1 . A bio-degradable composition comprising 0.2%-10% w/w bio-degradable polymer and an organic non hydroxylic solvent. 
     
     
         2 . The bio-degradable composition of  claim 1  comprising a plurality of organic non hydroxylic solvents. 
     
     
         3 . The bio-degradable composition of  claim 1  wherein the organic non hydroxylic solvent has a boiling point of less than 80° C. 
     
     
         4 . The bio-degradable composition of  claim 1  wherein the bio-degradable polymer is PLA and the organic non hydroxylic solvent is DCM. 
     
     
         5 . The bio-degradable composition of  claim 1  further comprising acetone. 
     
     
         6 . Use of the composition of  claim 1  in the preparation of a coating for bio-degradable articles. 
     
     
         7 . A method for preparing a rooting plug, the method comprising mixing the composition of  claim 1  with plug mix. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7 , comprising creating a hollow in the plug mix and mixing the composition of  claim 1  with the plug mix at the hollow. 
     
     
         9 . A bio-degradable article comprising an article body and a coating of the article body, said coating comprising 0.2%-10% w/w bio-degradable polymer and an organic non hydroxylic solvent. 
     
     
         10 . The bio-degradable article of  claim 9 , wherein the article is a plant pot or food-ware. 
     
     
         11 . The bio-degradable article of  claim 9 , wherein the coating comprises a plurality of organic non hydroxylic solvents. 
     
     
         12 . The bio-degradable article of  claim 9 , wherein the organic non hydroxylic solvent has a boiling point of less than 80° C. 
     
     
         13 . The bio-degradable article of  claim 9 , wherein the bio-degradable polymer is PLA and the organic non hydroxylic solvent is DCM. 
     
     
         14 . A bio-degradable plant pot comprising calcium carbonate. 
     
     
         15 . The bio-degradable plant pot of  claim 14 , further comprising a cellulose containing material, a starch, sulfate lignin, a molasse.
