Abstract

An electronic device comprising a display control unit configured to perform control to display a plurality of display items on a display, each display item corresponding to one of a plurality of setting items including a specified setting item; and a control unit configured to perform control to in case where the predetermined operation for the specified setting item is received and a line-of-sight input to a corresponding region for a display item corresponding to the specified setting item is received, display the display item corresponding to the specified setting item in a first display appearance, and in case where the predetermined operation for the specified setting item is received and a line-of-sight input to the corresponding region is not received, display the display item corresponding to the specified setting item in a second display appearance different from the first display appearance.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An electronic device comprising:
at least one memory and at least one processor which function as: a line-of-sight detection unit configured to detect a line-of-sight of a user to a display; and a control unit configured to perform control to display a setting item on the display; wherein the control unit performs control to
 1) display the setting item in a first display appearance, in a case where a line-of-sight to a region corresponding to the setting item is detected when a specific operation to the setting item is received, and
 2) display the setting item in a second display appearance with more emphasis than the first display appearance, in a case where the line-of-sight to the region corresponding to the setting item is not detected when the specific operation to the setting item is received.

2 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the second display appearance is a display appearance in which a display size is larger than a display size in the first display appearance.

3 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the second display appearance is a display appearance displaying the setting item in closer to a screen center of the display than the first display appearance.

4 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein in the second display appearance, the control unit performs control to display the setting item in a different display color than in the first display appearance.

5 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit performs control not to display the setting item in the second display appearance, in response to a detection of a line-of-sight corresponding to a predetermined condition by the line-of-sight detection unit after the setting item is displayed in the second display appearance.

6 . The electronic device according to claim 5 , wherein the control unit performs control to display the setting item in the first display appearance, in response to a detection of the line-of-sight corresponding to the predetermined condition by the line-of-sight detection unit after the setting item is displayed in the second display appearance.

7 . The electronic device according to claim 5 , wherein the line-of-sight corresponding to the predetermined condition is the line-of-sight to the region corresponding to the setting item.

8 . The electronic device according to claim 5 , wherein the line-of-sight corresponding to the predetermined condition is a line-of-sight continued for a predetermined time period or longer to the region corresponding to the setting item.

9 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit performs control to
display the setting item in the first display appearance, in a case where the line-of-sight to the region corresponding to the setting item is detected within a predetermined time period after receiving the specific operation to the setting item, and display the setting item in the second display appearance, in a case where the line-of-sight to the region corresponding to the setting item is not detected within the predetermined time period after receiving the specific operation to the setting item.

10 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit performs control to
display the setting item in the first display appearance regardless of a result of a line-of sight detection by the line-of-sight detection unit, in response to receiving the specific operation to the setting item, and change to the second display appearance from the first display appearance and display the setting item, in a case where the line-of sight to the region corresponding to the setting item is not detected.

11 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit performs control to display the setting item in the second display appearance without displaying the setting item in the first display appearance, in a case where the line-of-sight to the region corresponding to the setting item is not detected when the specific operation to the setting item is received.

12 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the setting item is a setting item of one of frame rate, recording image quality, wireless communication, and metering mode.

13 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit performs control to
display a second setting item which is different from the setting item on the display, and display the second setting item in the first display appearance regardless of whether or not a line-of-sight to a region corresponding to the second setting item is detected, in a case where the specific operation to the second setting item is received.

14 . The electronic device according to claim 13 , wherein
the control unit performs control to display a live view image captured by an image sensor together with the setting item and the second setting item, and the second setting item is a setting item of one of white balance, exposure setting value, shutter speed, and ISO.

15 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the specific operation is an operation of selecting one setting item and enabling a setting value of the selected setting item to be changed or set.

16 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the specific operation is an operation to change a setting value of a setting item.

17 . The electronic device according to claim 1 , wherein the control unit performs control to
display the setting item in a third display appearance in a case where the specific operation to the setting item is not received, and display the setting item in the third display appearance, in response to a satisfaction of a specific condition after the setting item in the first display appearance or the second display appearance is displayed.

18 . A method for controlling an electronic device, the method comprising:
a line-of-sight detection step of detecting a line-of-sight of a user to a display; and a control step of performing control to display a setting item on the display; wherein in the control step, it is controlled such that
 1) the setting item is displayed in a first display appearance, in a case where a line-of-sight to a region corresponding to the setting item is detected when a specific operation to the setting item is received, and
 2) the setting item is displayed in a second display appearance with more emphasis than the first display appearance, in a case where the line-of-sight to the region corresponding to the setting item is not detected when the specific operation to the setting item is received.

19 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to execute a method for controlling an electronic device, the method comprising:
a line-of-sight detection step of detecting a line-of-sight of a user to a display; and a control step of performing control to display a setting item on the display; wherein in the control step, it is controlled such that
